Studio-style spacious design The Annexe makes the most of the private space being both light & airy yet fully centrally heated making it warm and cosy at all times. The Annexe contains a fully fitted kitchenette allowing our guests to be self sufficient. A shower room and living/bedroom area completes the accommodation. The Annexe overlooks our south-facing garden accessed through its own french windows. Off road parking is available. Close proximity to the major roads of A14, A45 & A6 Completely private from the main house, the Annexe was built in 2017 as an extension to our lovely, traditional 1930’s Semi. The property benefits from its large, third of an acre garden with 2 ponds, one of which contains koi but both surrounded by a variety of plants from banana trees to more traditional perennials. The garden also includes beds & borders, a wild flower & grasses area at the back (which bees & damselflies love), not forgetting our walnut tree, where in the Autumn, our guests can pick some walnuts (if of course the squirrels do not get to them first!). Hidden in the large trees at the rear right hand side of the garden you might even see the bats flying at dusk for their nightly feed. Guests are invited to share the garden and enjoy the peace and solitude. A large terrace in front of the French windows & twin garden seat offers plenty of space for the guests to just enjoy the atmosphere. The studio-style Annexe features a living and sleeping area divided by open shelving with an overhead glass roof lantern allowing light to pass through into the living quarters giving a cosy feel as you look up to see the sky above you. A separate shower room and a kitchenette complete the guest accommodation. The kitchenette offers our guests a stove with oven, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster. All utensils, pots, pans and dishes and everything you would expect in a self-catering facility, and more! Shared garden access While I work full time my husband is retired and therefore easily contactable for any queries or assistance our guests might have if I'm not around. Our adult daughter is also resident. We are a very sociable family but appreciate some guests may just want their own space. We are happy to accommodate either way, however feel free to interact and say hello. Although on a main road into this market town, close proximity to main roads (A14, A6 & A45 are all nearby) providing easy travel around the area for drivers. There are numerous bus services with bus stops almost directly outside the property. The locality has fantastic walks and cycling routes some linking the local lake areas of Stanwick & Rushden lakes with the newly opened Rushden Lakes Retail Park providing restaurants and major retailer shopping should you wish to indulge. (Website hidden by Airbnb) A car provides easier access to everywhere although local bus routes are available. Nearest train stations can be found in Wellingborough & Bedford for mainline although both are 20-30 minutes drive away We are a non-smoking family home and ask that our guests respect this and not smoke inside the building. Seating is available outside on the patio if required. On your arrival we provide you with some staple foods and breakfast ingredients (eggs, bread, marmalade or jam, tea, cereal, coffee milk & sugar) so you can prepare your own breakfast on the first morning. If you want a supermarket to deliver your groceries before your arrival, just let me know and we can arrange to allow access and make sure dairy products or freezer items are stored safely in the fridge-freezer for you. Basic toiletries and cleaning products will be available. Although this is not mandatory, we would like to thank you if you replenish any of them. The kitchen has a basic supply of herbs, oils and spices while the garden has (depending on the season) fresh herbs that you can pick and enjoy.
