The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with induction plate, microwave oven etc. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water. Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a kettle, toaster, microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan for use inside or out. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house but most guests have found that taking a hot shower in the rain is exhilarating. There are lots of areas outside for you to use and enjoy, including a secluded area with bench seat by the mill stream where you can enjoy gorgeous views. For the intrepid there is also swimming (just about) or dipping in the mill stream messing about on the mill pond or simply fishing in it. The nearest pub is The New Delight Inn about a mile away. Good beer and simple meals. We live in the house and one of us will be here to welcome you. We will offer you a drink and biscuits etc, show you around and then you'll have your own key to come and go as you please. We have walking maps and guide books and can advise you on where to go by foot, bike or car. We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road. Hebden Bridge is an one hour downhill walk away following the mill stream. This is also an e-trail that you can download from "Pennine Horizons"; "Power in the Landscape". You can always get the bus back! From Hebden Bridge you can take a bus to Halifax or Howarth or trains to Manchester, Leeds and York. We have excellent reviews for cleanliness but we have implemented an enhanced cleaning routine. Pillows and mattresses have additional protective covers that are washed for every guest. All surfaces, switches, handles and taps etc are disinfected. Seating etc is treated with Zoflora. There is an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser outside the cabin door. The sleeping area is also the living area so unfortunately "No Pets" definitely does mean no dogs etc! Be watersafe! You are surrounded by mill ponds and a small stream. Strong footwear or wellies if it is raining are recommended. In high summer trainers are adequate. It is about 100 metres from the car parking area to the tree cabin along a steep, partially unlit footpath. If you need a walking stick then this place is probably not for you! After dark a torch is useful but most visitors have managed with light from a phone. Also note no naked flames or fires - Sorry! but you are in a wooden house in a pine forest! Also the 'NO SMOKING' policy really does mean no smoking!! The Kayak and the kite are not included but the rowing boat might be possible.
