The Yurt, nomadic experience. Garden House Sussex.

Inspired by one of my favourite guests, Granny Mongolia, this Mongolian Yurt is beautiful, romantic & luxurious. As you enter the yurt (or Ger, as Granny Mongolia calls it) you will instantly notice a sense of calm, coziness & grounding. The roundness of the yurt feels safe & reassuring, an ideal Retreat. Situated in a stunning walled garden, surrounded by countryside & historic woodland. Features include nomadic-style living with fire pit, log burner, outdoor dining room, kitchen & bathroom. This space is ideal for people who love the outdoors & dream of a nomadic lifestyle. The bohemian chic decor is very romantic. Features include a log burning stove, Mongolian artefacts (gifted to me by Granny Mongolia) soft bedding & blankets to snuggle up. The Yurt has a king size bed & floor mats for children. Whilst outside guests can enjoy a fire pit, covered outdoor dining area, kitchen with gas hob, fridge & bbq. It even has a quirky outdoor bathroom with shower & eco-friendly, waterless composting toilet. Ideal for couples looking for a weekend break with a difference or a meditative retreat. Or a small family with children looking for a unique & fun place to stay. Guests can enjoy all aspects of the yurt and the one acre of walled garden it’s located within. I live next door to the yurt and am available up to 8pm for guests should they wish to contact me. Close to Petworth Park, Coates Common, Duncton Mill Pond, Arundel, Petworth, Midhurst & Cowdray and Chichester. Having a car I think would be best as we are fairly rural. Mongolian tradition would have you enter the Yurt with your right foot first. No vehicles in the walled garden itself please (includes pick up & drop off). You can park alongside the outer wall of the walled garden on the hard standing/gravelled area. Please feel free to bring your own supplies for the log burner, bbq & fire pit. Alternatively, you can pre-order a fire starting kit for £15 includes matches, firelighters, kindling & logs. Our closest shop is Fittleworth Stores in School Lane, Fittleworth. We have two other properties on site at Garden House, a 2-bed luxury cottage (The Bothy) also in the grade II listed walled garden. And a traditional shepherds hut (The Hut) which sleeps 2, situated under a chestnut tree in a 7 acre meadow. In the summer months, we also have a 4m Bell Tent in an area of private woodland for rent.
