Room with view of River Nile, Jinja

This small but very cosy room is overlooking the Nile and is located in a beautiful garden with a salt water swimming pool. Enjoy the birds and monkeys in the trees and the otters in the river. Only 5 km away from Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa. This cottage is newly renovated and located in a beautiful garden overlooking the river Nile and is especially designed for people who love nature, birds and a quiet environment. 85 different species of birds have been spotted in the adjacent gardens. The cottage is self catering but a "meal of the day" can also be ordered from the next door retreat centre. A boda boda (motorcycle taxi) can be arranged for transport to and from the town to Njeru. A number of a private taxi can also be given to guests. In Jinja, you will find supermarkets and restaurants and of course the famous "Source of the Nile." Swimming and fishing in the Nile are possible and rafting or bird viewing trips can be arranged. The room is small but very cosy and ideal for people who want to be "away from the busy world." The guests will enjoy the swimming pool, and the large garden next door with swing beds. There is good access to the river for fishing. I live next door to the property and will be able to assist when needed. However, the practical things will be taken care of by the staff of the retreat centre next door. The neighborhood is very quiet and away from the noise of the city. It is near a local village with friendly people who are very helpful. Occasionally there is a disco at the hotel on the other side of the river. We are in contact with the manager about noise pollution. There are a number of boda boda's (motorcycle taxi's) that will come and pick guests up and there are private hire taxi's to Jinja for approx. 6 euro's. There are a number of tourist attractions such as rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping all within 5 km from the house. A local tourist company can pick guests up from the garden for a 2 hour trip on the River Nile.
