Potenza, a modern city in Southern Italy, was built on a hill more than 800 metres a.s.l. It was inhabited till the IV century B.C probably after destruction of the close village of Serra di Vaglio, whose ruins are still visible. Under the Roman domination it was an important municipality as showed by S.Vito’s Bridge and the Roman villa (nearby accommodation) . My guests have the exclusively use of garden & parking inside gated area, they can use all glasses, cups and kitchen tools, they can use the fireplace and the dishwasher. Because of there is no washing machine in their apartment, they can use mine 1 time per week free (and more than 1 for 4€) and in winter dryer machine for 3€. I live with my family nearby the house so I am easily accessible for every need or suggestion – from key exchanges, to repairs, to suggest tourist tips and or anything else .... except when I'm traveling! I usually travel a lot because I love to known different places, people, mores and ….foods! I am an open-mind and friendly person. When it's possible, daily commitments and my guests schedule permitting, I am always happy to offer some typical Basilicata's dishes or cooking on request, by prior arrangement. I think it's very nice to exchange ideas and talking as if you were old friends! So I look forward to meet you!!! This accommodation is located in the inner suburbs of Potenza town (Basilicata region) in a complex of a lovely houses surrounded by the country; supermarket & shops 10 min on foot; 10-15 mins far from the old centre by car. The house is located at the edge of the city so it seems to be in the countryside but only 10 minutes away from old centre by car and 30 by escalators! There is a bus stop near the house (5 mins walking), shops and supermarkets just 10 minutes away (on foot). Nearby you can buy delicious fresh handmade pasta, delicious meat, ice cream, chocolates in a great chocolate shops ... enjoying Balinese massages and treatments in a beauty salon nearby, going to the hairdresser; everything is here as if you were living in the heart of the city! Very famour restaurant, pubs (like Cibò, Barmacia, Quarantotto,,,) are only 10 mins walking near a very nice park Parcomondo forrelaxing and walking. Finally, very comfortable and beautiful escalators (15-20 min walk) will take you in the historic center of the city! Use beautiful escalators (the longest in Europe) to reach downtown only 15-20 mins by foot or 5 mins by car!
