Comfortably fits two to four people; leisurely stroll to beaches, markets, restaurants, entertainment. Immerse Yourself in a Delightful Hellenic Experience Charming 1 full bedroom, 2 bath, furnished vacation home available for rent on Euboea (Evvia), a picturesque Greek island, easily accessible from mainland Greece (sleeps up to 4 people comfortably). The home has a complete, updated kitchen with all amenities (stove, oven, refrigerator, etc.), washing machine, and ample storage space. You can enjoy the local restaurants or take pleasure in shopping for fresh groceries and cooking in this fully equipped kitchen. A delightful garden encircles this bright, clean home that has spacious rooms with high ceilings and a stunning marble entry staircase and landing, ideal for sipping morning coffee or tea and enjoying the blissful air. Numerous windows and doors allow a fresh cool afternoon breeze to filter through the home. The town is nestled amid pine forests that meet the sea. Our town, Limni, is the epitome of Grecian charm. Follow the aroma to the neighborhood bakery a short block away for freshly baked Hellenic sweet or sourdough bread, specialty cookies, or spanakopita for an afternoon snack. Traipse across the road from the bakery, or along the main town boulevard to the local produce stands for fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Continue along the main street and visit the butcher or fish monger for your daily protein fare. There are supermarkets that stock dry goods and dairy products such as Greek yogurt and delicious local cheeses (hard, soft, and of course feta). In the late afternoon walk to a local café and relax while you enjoy a Greek coffee and scrumptious Hellenic pastries (galaktobouriko or kataifi). The evenings are for strolling, imbibing at a local ouzo bar, and partaking of the delectable food at the restaurants situated along the waterfront. Beach areas are a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) minute walk off one end of town or a short 5-min drive north of the main town square. The water is clear and refreshing with scenic views of mainland Greece to the west across the water. Walking distance from one end of town to the other takes 20 to 30 minutes, unless you stop to cavort with the friendly locals. Take a cab or hike 10 km to the local monastery and visit the impeccable gardens maintained by the nuns, or grab a cab and visit Edipsos famous for their medicinal and relaxing hot springs. We speak fluent English and Greek. We will not necessarily be present on the premises during all times that the home is rented, but we are available via email. This home is one of two units on the property. This home was built with love by my grandfather for his family, and has a welcoming aura and wonderful energy. It is situated in a lovely neighborhood with warm smiling faces that greet you in the morning. Getting to Limni (Evvia) from Athens. Limni and Evvia are easily accessed by bus, taxi, or automobile (a bridge connects the island to the mainland). Limni is approximately 150 km (~95 miles) from Athens. They stop in Chalkida (Halkis) on the island of Euboea where you may have to transfer to a different bus for Limni within the same station, or you may stay on the same bus based on the itinerary. There are generally two buses to Limni daily from Chalkida. The bus will drop you approximately a 5-10 minute walk from the house. To minimize cost and travel time you may consider taking the bus from Athens to Chalkida and have the taxi service pick you up from the bus station in Chalkida and take you directly to the house in Limni. Auto Rental: Cars can be rented through a number of car rental companies in Athens. Driving is on the right side of the road in Greece. Sites and Delights Kohili Beach: A 5-10 minute drive to this lovely beach. Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day. Food and bar facilities on the beach. Kaminos Resort - Cocktails & Dining Excellent for dining or cocktails. A short 5-minute ride south of Limni to this resort for cocktails or a late night dinner. The food and service are excellent and the ambiance incredible. This converted factory built in stone was recently renovated with the stone architecture in place. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Aidipsos (Edipsos)/Loutra: Hot springs and baths 45 minutes by car or taxi. Bus schedule to this destination varies so check with the local bus depot in Limni. The Monastery of Saint David in Euboea, which is dedicated to the transfiguration of the Savior, and yet is associated with Saint David who founded it about (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) AD and lived his monastic life there in the 16th century, celebrates on August 6th as well as on November 1st . (Website hidden by Airbnb) Sporades Islands The (Northern) Sporades are an archipelago northeast of the island of Euboea in the Aegean Sea, consisting of 24 islands, four of which are permanently inhabited: Alonnisos, where the Mediterranean Monk Seal rookeries are, Skiathos easily accessible by ferry for a day trip to sit by the beach or enjoy the waterfront restaurants, Skopelos and Skyros. From Aidispsos board a ferry to Arktisa and then a KTEL bus to Delphous. Spend the day marveling at the ancient architecture and visit the museum. Spend the night in Delphous or take a KTEL bus to the seaside town of Itea for dinner by the sea.
