"The View", South Downs Way near Bury

My place is close to Pulborough in the heart of the Sussex Downs. Arundel, Chichester, Goodwood and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. We are located above Pulborough Brooks in an area of outstanding natural beauty. 180 degree stunning views can be soaked up from the sitting room. Recently built, this oak framed garden room offers some of the best views in Sussex. Whether rambling or cycling the South Downs, we are at the exact half way point close to Pulborough train station. A recently built oak framed garden room with doors opening onto steps descending to garden level. Oak beams, sloping skeilings, and flooring give the space an open, modern feel whilst respecting the age of the main house next door dating from 1700s. The entire space is open plan with the upper floor area comprising the bedroom area with a king size bed. There is a separate slate tiled bathroom with shower, sink and wc. A small kitchenette area with a sink and microwave completes the space on the upper level and gives you the flexibility to make simple meals or by all means try some of our excellent pubs in the area. The sitting room area is down one step from the bedroom and kitchen; it faces the garden and the amazing views of the South Downs over the rear garden. The sitting room has a TV & DVD player (with a choice of DVDs), a B&W speaker, two sofas one of which converts to a sofa bed suitable for one adult or two children. A separate single bed is available if four adults wish to share but it will be a bit snug if so. The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge/freezer, sandwich toaster, sink, toaster & kettle. Please note there is no oven and no Wifi. Guests will need to rely on their phones for data services. There is good phone coverage in this area. Entrance to "The View" is from the driveway of the main house (Beacon House) where there is plenty of parking. Access is via the side of the main house and up some brick steps to the large oak doors. Let us know if you require a taxi during your stay - they are always best booked in advance. A stunning area of West Sussex, our house is in the South Downs National Park. We can be reached easily via main road and are within 20 minutes drive of the South Coast beaches around Chichester and Clymping. Goodwood is 25 minutes by car so we are ideally located for Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival or Glorious Goodwood. Petwork House is 10 minutes by car. We are close to Bury Hill one of the main intersection points half way on the South Downs for any guests cycling or rambling the 110 mile route. Bignor Roman Villa is 10 minutes by car. The area has fantastic walks down by the Arun river or along the South Downs Way with views across the Weald towards London and the North Downs. In season, we are close to a number of well established shooting party organisers. Pulborough Railway Station is 4 miles. However, the location here is very rural and bus links are infrequent. Car or cycle is the best transport method to give you flexibility to enjoy your stay. Nearest village with a supermarket and for petrol is at Pulborough. We have a very large family dog, cats and chickens. The dog and cats can be nosey. Please bear in mind if you don’t like dogs or if you are allergic. If you would like us to arrange for a microwave meal on arrival we can do so, just let us know - useful if you are going to be late. If you are visiting the area, we can also arrange for you to borrow picnic hamper, coolbox, blankets and chairs - just let us know in advance.
