A wonderfully restored and converted former Quaker Meeting House dated 1696 in the quiet village heart of historic Baldock, a charming market town. Combines full renovation with ancient timbers & other features. 4 minute walk to station: half hour away by train from London & Cambridge. The main central living space is open plan. Modern bathrooms and toilets; kitchen recently fully re-decorated and re-furbished with a washing machine and separate fridge and freezer. A faithful blend of old and new, in a peaceful part of this medieval market town, close to all amenities and local points of interest like Hatfield House and Knebworth House, as well as lovely country walks from your door. All the busyness and culture of Cambridge and London are less than half an hour away. A good place for exploring further afield in East Anglia and the Heart of England with the A1 (M) motorway nearby. Quakers would find it an especially interesting place to stay, given Baldock's historic connections with George Fox and John Woolman. There is a small green area around the house where you can sit outside in the quiet of Quaker Yard. All parts of the house accessible with parking on a private space next to the house. I am around to meet and greet. Baldock has lovely local art galleries, gift shops, specialist butchers, charming pubs with great beers and history, folk and jazz evenings, gardens and a big supermarket on the edge of the town, ten minutes walk away. On Sunday mornings you hear the church bells ringing quietly and unobtrusively in the historic steeple. The houses around mostly date from the 1600s to the mid 1800s Station four minutes walk away with fast and frequent trains to London, Ely and Cambridge, and Stansted airport. Luton airport is 40 minutes away by car. A1(M) motorway is just five minutes drive outside of town with links north to Lincoln, Huntingdon, Northampton and Peterborough, and south to London and St Albans. There is both the twin bed with ensuite or the double bedroom with bathroom for private use accross the landing.
