The Blue Room, between Ghent and Aalst

I will welcome you in my house. The room you are renting has a rather small but very comfortable double bed and two single beds. It's a light and airy room. You will find everything you need to make coffee and tea in the room. In the mornings I provide a lovely breakfast with fresh bread and fresh eggs from my hens. . Please note that my house is not located in the city of Ghent, but in Serskamp which is in the country side 20 km away. The room I'm renting out is completely newly refurbished. There is a rather small but very comfortable double bed. You'll find everything you need to make coffee (Senseo machine) and tea in the room. I'll provide you with a lovely breakfast in the morning. You only need to relax and enjoy! :-) The room is completely yours. The bathroom is to be shared. When I'm at home, I do the cooking, but you're welcome to join me for diner for €15 pp, drinks included, but please order diner a day in advance. When I'm out in the evening you're welcome to use the oven or microwave to heat up a meal, but it's not possible to start cooking a full meal. Thanks! As I am living here on my own, I'm always open for a chat with my guests. But if you want to be left alone, that's fine too! :-). I can help you out with suggestions where to go or what to visit, or provide you cycling maps etc... This town is a little town but ideal for walking or cycling trips. Very close by is the 'Kalkense Meersen'. That's a lovely protected area where you can find cattle living there in the open. To get there you need to take a lovely ferry over the river 'Schelde'. A little adventure in itself. Do you want more excitement? Ghent is only 20 minutes drive away, by car or by train. Also Aalst is close by and even Brussels and Bruges are easily reachable. Every hour there is a train from Ghent to the station of 'Schellebelle' which is only 1,5 km from here. If you want, and when i'm at home, I can pick you up there. There is also the possibility to take the train (several per hour) from Ghent to 'Wetteren', from there you can take a bus to Serskamp. Then you only need to walk 250 m to my house. During school holidays and in the weekends I'm very flexible about the check in time! So just ask what time you can arrive, and we work something out!
