Meadow Cottage has been recently refurbished in the style of a beautiful English farmhouse. As the name suggests, Meadow Cottage is surrounded by meadows and farmland giving a lovely sense of space and calm. Originally built as two single-storey farm workers’ cottages, the cottage has changed over the years and is now a stylish residence that can accommodate up to twelve guests. Meadow Cottage has both bold colours and muted tones to give a modern and relaxed feel suitable for both adults and children. Reclaimed materials have been used in the rebuild, where possible, to give added character, whilst the room names and interior styling have taken inspiration from the wild flowers, grasses and plants that grow all around the farm at Apton Hall. As you approach Meadow Cottage, you may notice that the drive has been finished with cockleshell, a by-product from the local cockle sheds at Leigh and a reminder that the sea isn’t far away. If you do want to venture out, information regarding walks, beaches and the best local eateries can be found in the living area. Meadow Cottage is surrounded by nature; the fields, meadows and hedgerows are filled with wildlife. There are foxes, hares and a large variety of birds including wild pheasants which you will often see chilling in the garden - if not, don’t worry, they will be back! The kitchen is fully equipped should you wish to exercise your culinary talents, or, if you’re not a chef and would like to to be looked after, please contact us to discuss options. The sitting room, painted a shade of grey-blue, is both trendy and comfortable, with luxurious sofas, soft pink cushions and arm chairs - perfect for relaxing and taking a much-needed break with friends or family. Rochford train station is just a ten minute taxi ride away for those arriving by train. Once here, there are plenty of footpaths for those wishing to stretch their legs. The nearest pub is a 20 minute walk.
