Entire Thatched Cottage

In line with Government guidelines we're pleased to start welcoming guests again. It remains essential all bookings are in lined with the rules! New bookings can be changed if travel isn't allowed at no cost. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned between guests with products designed to kill virus. The house is full of charm & character, good sized rooms [albeit wonky & low ceilings!], modern kitchen & a private garden. Please note there is only on street parking ~100 metres from the cottage. There are two good sized double rooms and a cosy twin room. The thatch is new making the house very quiet and snug. There are beams throughout, uneven floors and low ceilings in places, all adding to the authentic character of what was the cobblers home and workshop. There is a twin bedroom, bathroom and a separate toilet with sink on the ground floor for anyone who cannot manage the stairs. There is a modern kitchen, a family bathroom, en suite to master bedroom room, plus a separate toilet with sink. There is a lounge with two large sofas and TV, a dining room with table and chairs, inglenook (not in use) and sofa. The garden is laid to lawn with flower beds. There is a garden dining set and bench. We live 800 metres from the cottage (our old house) and are always available to help, give advice and sort out any problems. We provide tea, coffee, cereals, milk and Juice to get you started. We also offer other [charged] services such as afternoon tea in the garden or indoors, prepare/provide meals (all by prior arrangement and dependant on our availability). We can arrange for groceries to be delivered, wash and iron clothes, look after luggage, drive and collect guests. Please enquire separately, not through AirBnB. The house is on a quiet lane lined with lovely gardens and friendly neighbours. We have 7 neighbours, all really nice people, we ask guests to be respectful and not to make too much noise as the evenings roll on or too early in the morning! We do not live next door (not sure why people assume this!) but we are only 800 metres away so can be there to help with anything you need. Meldreth station is a short walk [~10 minutes] with trains to Kings Cross and Cambridge once or twice an hour. M11 is close, Stansted airport is from 30 minutes and Luton airport from 45 minutes. If we are around we are happy to collect guests from the station. If you are thinking of going further by taxi there are companies around but they are few and sometimes expensive, we offer an informal car service, all donations welcomed by the kids! All of our neighbours are very happy the cottage is on AirB&B, but most are elderly so please respect their self isolation at this time. The house cannot be seen from the road [or on web based 'street view'], access is via a private pedestrian footpath via a small blue gate to the right of a small thatched cottage that fronts the lane. Our house is behind the small thatched cottage so we suggest people stop their car by the blue gate to unload bags before parking. Normally we try to meet guests but are equally happy to let guests self check in to avoid Corona risk. We suggest stopping in the lane while unloading bags and then park on the road either ~80 metres one way or ~120 metres the other way from the house. It is an access only lane so there is very little traffic to worry about.
