Our priority is to ensure our guests' needs are met, whether it is chatting or being left alone. Continental breakfast will be left out for guests to enjoy whenever they decide to venture to the kitchen. There is therefore no pressure on waking up time! We are self employed and do work from home sometimes. Depending on what we are working on we could be out all day. Braintree is a beautiful market town that is rich in history. In 1199 King John granted the town a charter to hold a weekly market. Today the market is held twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays, when the streets abound with colourful stalls and friendly faces. Discerning shoppers are attracted to the town throughout the year by the traditional and specialist smaller shops while bargain hunters are well served by the discounted designer village on the outskirts of the town at Freeport. Other attractions include Braintree District Museum, Blake House Craft Centre, Cressing Temple Barns, Great Notley Country Park, Warner Textile Archive, Bocking Windmill, Hedingham Castle, Boydells dairy farm, Felsted Vineyard. Venture further afield to nearby Suffolk and visit John Constable Country at Flatford Mills or spend a day in Cambridge. Braintree Freeport station is 15 minutes walk from the house. It is an hour to London Liverpool street by train. Buses to Chelmsford, Colchester, Stansted Airport and nearby villages can be boarded from a bus stop 5 minutes from the house. The town centre is about 1.5 kilometres away and easily walkable, although you can get a bus. Stanstead is the nearest airport and it takes 20 minutes to drive. Coaches and trains to all over the UK depart from Stanstead. Free parking is available in front of our house. Interesting day trips to Flatford Mills, Norfolk Broads and beaches at Frinton and Walton-on-the-Naze. Cambridge, Newmarket, Bury St Edmund and all the attractions of London are all within an hour to an hour and half!
