In winter, in addition to two large toboggan slopes, there is a varied and well-groomed network of trails for fans of cross-country skiing (also known as the "Skiarena Bodetal"). As the highest located district of the unitary community of Thale, Friedrichsbrunn is approx. 10 km from the core city. By paying the tourist tax (€ 2.50 per person / night), use of public transport is possible free of charge in the entire Harz district.
