North Creake cosy cottage near beach dogs welcome
Chalk Hill is a charming traditional flint cottage within a few minutes' drive of Burnham Market and the North Norfolk Coast. To the rear it has a sunny, fully enclosed garden with table, chairs and BBQ. There is off-road parking to the front, fully fitted kitchen and light, spacious living/dining area with wood burner. Full CH. High chair, stair gates and travel cot available upon request. Great local walks and bird life; dogs are welcome at a small extra charge. Pretty, very light and spacious living areas with a lovely, totally private, enclosed south- facing garden and outside dining area with table, chairs and BBQ. Chalk Hill is not a ‘bijou’ holiday house it has a traditional cosy cottage decor with plenty of homely touches and a mix of antique, vintage and modern furniture and fabrics. There is a fully equipped kitchen with oven, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Travel cot (no bedding), stair gates and high chair are available upon request. Wifi is included and a wood burning stove for the colder months. Some wood is provided, more available at cost. Please be aware that the twin bedroom is accessed via the single bedroom; both have doors. BBQ and outdoor furniture available for use. Lots of toys, games, books and DVDs; large TV. Off-road parking space for up to two cars directly in front of the cottage. Local pub (Jolly Farmers a 2 minute walk), and half a mile from Creake Abbey with a really good restaurant/café and a great outside space. Creake Abbey has an award-winning farmers' market plus many other events throughout the year. Burnham Market is 2 miles away, with its shops, restaurants and pubs and a famous hat shop. Everything you need for a good wander round. Fabulous beaches at Wells, Holkham, Burnham Overy Staithe, Titchwell, Brancaster and Hunstanton (plus many more) are within a short drive. The first 3 are the nearest and are 3-5 miles away. Full, exclusive access to the entire cottage and its garden and parking area. The cottage sleeps 5 plus an infant. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at a small extra charge but must not be left on their own in the cottage, please. Please do not arrive before 4pm unless an earlier time has been agreed. Please note that Checkout is by 10am on the day of your departure. Owners live next door, and, if needed, are on hand to help/advise on how to best enjoy your stay. The cottage has a folder and a mass of information, maps and ideas for places to visit for all ages and interests, but do get in touch if you want any further local information or have any special requirements. North Creake has a friendly local pub within a short walk of the cottage. The Ostrich pubIn South Creake is undergoing total refurbishment and should be open by the summer. Creake Abbey, renowned for its restaurant, farmers' market and craft fairs, is under half a mile away. There is a huge network of excellent footpaths on the doorstep for dog-walkers. There are some great pubs and eateries nearby, including the Duck in Stanhoe and the Black Lion in Walsingham. The cottage has a pair of resident tawny owls and swifts nest in the roof in the summer, so do expect to hear them. The cottage is 2 miles from Burnham Market and within 5 miles of Burnham Overy Staithe, Holkham, Wells and Brancaster beaches which, if you do not already know them, are well worth googling as they are amazing. There is a bus that runs through the village, to and from Fakenham. In all honesty, a car is absolutely essential for freedom to explore the coast properly. Well behaved dogs are welcome. There is an outside tap and towels inside the door to clean up your pet before coming into the house. The cottage is situated well away from the road but the access at the front is not gated. The sunny back garden is child and dog-proof for added peace of mind. We expect all guests to be scrupulous about cleaning up after their pet(s) in the garden, please. As a courtesy to all our guests, please ensure that your dog’s flea and worming treatment are up to date. Please note that I do not provide towels for 3 night stays, although these can be provided upon request, at a small extra cost. Central heating is provided in the colder months free of charge until 11 am in the mornings and after 4.30 pm in the evenings. The heating MUST be turned off overnight. There is an extra charge if guests require heating between 11 am and 4.30pm. Alternatively, guests can keep the downstairs cosy by buying a £5 basket of logs and lighting the wood burner during the day.
