Apartment Stay in Historic Dover
Our beautiful one bedroom basement apartment is ideal for a couple or a family of up to four visiting Dover for a short vacation or an extended stay. Situated in an area of historic importance, the house is an 1834 late Georgian townhouse immediately below Dover Castle and just a moments walk into the town centre & shops, the beach, White Cliffs trails, and conveniently placed to access the cross-channel ferry port and cruise terminals. The apartment is semi sub-basement level meaning the front windows allow plenty of natural sunlight to flood into the living space during the day and makes a very bright and homely ambience. A private gated entrance and york stone staircase leads to the lower front door and porch area where guests may hang coats and store shoes and accessories if needed. The front living space contains a sofa, coffee table and dining table with chairs, plus 2 single beds. The fully equipped modern kitchen adjoins this space and the rear double bedroom through a separate doorway. The bathroom is accessed through the rear bedroom. Guests have private use of the full apartment which has a private entrance on the lower ground floor Alex lives in a neighbouring property and is always contactable via messaging or phone. Upon your arrival Alex will welcome you personally and show you around the apartment while also offering any advice or suggestions on where to visit and dine out. The apartment is situated in the old historic area just below Dover Castle and very close to the town centre, seafront, ferry port & cruise terminals. Dover Priory train station is a 15 minute walk away will the main town centre bus station on Pencester Road is 5 minutes down the road. There are plenty not excellent restaurants and pubs nearby with probably the best pub in town, The White Horse, just metres away across the road. Dover is a small seaside town with most sites of interest and amenities all within easy reach by foot. When taxis are required, for instance when arriving by train with lots of luggage or to get to the cruise terminal speedily then these are either readily available outside Dover Priory train station or simply booked by phone, which your host, Alex, will happily help with. During Covid-19 restrictions we can only accommodate groups from one household only in the apartment (proof of address may be required). The apartment is self-catering only although breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and milk are provided free of charge for overnight stays.
