In fairy tale surroundings! This 200 yrs old, modernized and comfortable dairy house is located in the parish of beautiful Ekensberg, in the middle of a deer nature reserve, and neighbour to the old manor Ekensberg castle. The surroundings are untouched and serene with wonderful hiking areas, 3 min walk to lake Mälaren and a pretty jetty. The house has large, cosy rooms, fully equipped for family, friends and food buffs, located only 45 min by car from Stockholm & 30 km to beautiful Mariefred. Welcome to the dairy. Our beloved countryhouse, which we live in and enjoy ourselves when we are not letting it out to responsible guests a few times a year. The house has a big, beautiful garden with three different sittning areas and wonderful places for both young and adults to play and rest. Inside this 230 square metre villa, you will find large, luxurious rooms, and a beautiful, spacious bathroom and one additional restroom. The food buff will find a fully equipped kitchen and a barbeque. A wide selection of literature and films in english (and swedish) for relaxation. Netflix, HBO, CMore and Viaplay for streaming. Kitchen and bathroom has underfloor heating. In the living room there is a cosy fire place. Two more additional fire places - one is an old fashioned iron stove in the kitchen. The house sleeps 8 persons. It contains four bedrooms (two downstairs + two upstairs including one room just over the staircase with two daybeds that easily and often is used as nightbeds) Hammocks, daybed, loungers, an outdoor shower, a cherrytree and black currents to eat in the garden when in season. We have swings, a small tree house and a big trampoline, many toys and games if travelling with kids. Please observe that towels and bedlinnen are included at a small additional cost and that this is a non smoking house. Guests have access to the whole house, garden, trampoline, shared jetty (with three other neigbours) and beautiful surroundings. Bedlinnen & towels can easily be arranged at a small extra cost. Hosts are not present during stay, except when opening and closing the house and sometimes for tending the garden. Guests are more than welcome to get in touch with questions. Only two minutes walk to the lake Mälaren where a pretty, private little jetty is available for sunbathing, swimming and wonderful moments. This is a wonderfully quiet hiking area. The surroundings are untouched and serene and behind the house is a famous view point on the cliff called Lur mountain, which gives you indecribably beautiful views of the lake, woods and country side. Perfect for picnics, barbecues and sunset drinks. Another neighbour to the villa is a large stable where you can either take a walk to admire the many horses on the meadows and paddocks or arrange to go for a ride. The house is located 45 minutes by car from Stockholm. A nice grocery shop 10 km from the house. It is about 20 km to the beautiful Mariefred town situated in Södermanland. The Gripsholm Slott (The Gripsholm Castle), several quaint cafés and restaurants and the golf course are well worth a visit. Go there by car or take the steamboat from the jetty five minutes walk from the house. The family will love science center Tom Tits experiment (20 minutes) or mini car land LÅdbilslandet (15 minutes). You can also go to Stockholm with the steamboat for an evening and night out and return the next morning. Get here by car or train and bus from Stockholm. Steamboat to and from Stockholm and Mariefred during the summer. This is the perfect house for all kinds of guests, but in particular family and friends. Children under 2 years stay for free. The food buff will find a fully equipped kitchen and a barbeque. Herbs to use in cooking in the back yard. A wide selection of literature and films in english (and swedish) for relaxation. A Continental breakfast for the whole stay is included in the price and will await in the kitchen and in the fridge at the arrival day. Please note if you want the breakfast international style or typically Swedish. We have a Golden Retriever-dog (who is not at the house during your stay), but this might be important information to any guest with allergies. We are open to consider request to bring your own dog if it is house trained. We have our own well so one needs to use the water wisely. That means filling washing machines, dishwashers and - if more than 5 people at once - take shorter showers.
