Spacious village farmhouse close to Harlingen

This beautiful old farm building from 1890 is on the edge of Winaam, a small village a stone’s throw from Harlingen in Friesland. The garden is large and sunny, with two picnic tables, swing seat and small orchard. A lovely place to spend some mellow days away from the city. Everything has been thought of to celebrate a relaxing holiday here. The house has a spacious living room and a well equipped linked open kitchen (70m2). The garden is large with sun throughout the day, right through till sunset, and with plenty to see and visit in the neighbourhood. Sleeping is in a downstairs double bedroom (suitable also for older or less mobile guests, with only two steps from the downstairs, none when the room is entered from the garden). Also upstairs in two twin rooms, (one based on an traditional bedstee), also one double (with small desk) and one room with 4 bedrooms. Also there is a bedroom in a garden house with own wc. Perfect for a family holiday where everyone has space to spread or for a family reunion. The garden is large and with open views across the fields towards Harlingen. In the front garden are two picnic tables an there is plenty of room to play, kick a football, play badminton or simply relax in the sun. In the back garden you can find a place in the shade under the fruit trees to read a book or lounge/sunbathe in privacy. On a sunny winter’s days the sun bathes the living room of an afternoon. The open living area is cosy & roomy with two dining tables each sitting six (one extends to seat eight) which can be put together for a large group or used apart, maybe one for leisure and the other for eating at. There is plenty to amuse: games, a sjoelbak, toys, a couple of 1000 piece puzzles(!) and a beamer with DVD and chromecast to watch own Netflix or other media. The well-equipped kitchen lends itself to enjoying some home-cooking together. The whole house and the garden are at your disposal. I am accessible via telephone or the Airbnb app for all your questions before and during your stay. My neighbour Frans is also on hand for your questions during your stay. Alde Leane is at the edge of the village Wijnaldum (Winaam in Friesian) and in this lovely, peaceful village you can make low key little trips, walking through the village, visiting the fish pond, the wood, enjoying the view from the Winaam folly, swimming or fishing in the ‘Vaart’. Children will enjoy the playground (50m up a cul-de-sac) where you can also play petanque, football or table tennis. You can eat apple cake at a farm a walking distance away (even for the shortest legs!), or walk or take the bike to the seadyke at Roptazijl (2km) for some fresh sea air. The Harlingen Museum and the Friesian museum in Leeuwarden, het Eisinga planetarium in Franeker, Sneek, Vlieland and Terschelling are all nearby. The beach is to be found at Harlingen beach or at Makkum. In the house are folders with a plethora of ideas and tips from previous guests. Je kunt uit Harlingen te voet; als je een uurtje de tijd hebt op een mooie dag. De bus kan ook; die stopt op de weg naar Sexbierum en het lastste km naar het dorp lopen. Met de auto of de fiets ben je er het snelst en kan je ook naar veel mooie plekken in de omgeving! Er zijn vijf 28' en 26' fietsen beschikbaar, of je kunt extra, of e-bikes of kinderfietsen huren bij de plaatselijke fietsenmaker. Due to limited parking and out of consideration for the neighbours the house is suitable for families and family reunions not for large single groups.
