Lovingly furnished house in beautiful location

Our house is an ideal self-catering getaway to relax and enjoy the wonderfully hilly and wooded landscape of the rural Hunsrück region and the beautiful winegrowing-region along the river Nahe in Rhineland-Palatinate. Follow the way of the gemstone and discover Museums, jewellry galleries, gemstone mills and mines. Walking, mountain-biking, exploring the region or just relaxing – everything is possible! We love vintage style! The house is to a large extent equipped with vintage furniture in mid-century style and traditional farmhouse furniture. We love it generous! The house is located at the edge of the small village Bergen, in a calm side street with a beautiful view of orchards, farmhouses and gardens. Guests have direct and exclusive access to the large garden around the house. Up to 5 adults or 4 adults and 4 children have sufficient space. On the ground floor there is a large living room with two sofas, a dining room, a well equipped kitchen with a small second dining table, a guest toilet and a spacy entrance. The 3 bedrooms upstairs have a King Size bed (200x200 cm), two single beds of 100x200 cm and a French Bed of 140x200 cm. There is a modern bathroom with a shower. The sofa in the living room can be used as a convertible bed for two additional guests (Children). Adjacent to the living room there is a beautiful large roofed terrace to enjoy the wonderful view of the village. Guests have the entire house on their own. We may keep some drawers and one spare room (not advertised above) locked as we keep personal possessions there. You will have plenty of space though. We are happy about everyone who wants to explore our beautiful home region and love it to support them with tips for tours, activities and restaurants. As historian Christine loves to share her knowledge about the cultural heritage of the region. Ulrike, as passionate motor cyclist and hiker, knows exactly where the most beautiful tracks are. As we do not live in the village our guests can contact us via e-mail or telephone. In the house you will find a folder with practical tips and all necessary information. We love our neighbours! The house is set in a very agreable, calm and friendly neighbourhood and has beautiful views. Please respect our neighbour's calm and note that there is a farm nearby (no animals). Depending on the harvest season farm vehicles may produce noise also during early morning or late evening hours. We love the Hunsrück region! Bergen is just a couple of miles away from the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park with its pristine forests. Because of its varied scenery and the dry and fresh climate the region is a paradise for hikers, mountains bikers, motor cyclists and everyone who loves it to be outdoors. The trails of the nearby Saar-Hunsrück-Steig belong to the most beautiful hiking trails in Germany. Moreover, the region is rich in geological treasures. Follow the way of the gemstone and discover the famous German Gemstone Museum, jewellery galleries, gemstone mills and mines open to the public in nearby Idar-Oberstein. With a bit of luck you can even find precious stones on your own in the fields around Bergen. The slate quarries near Bundenbach have preserved rich remains of fossils. The historic copper mine in Fischbach presents fascinating underground worlds. It is just a short drive by car to the historic towns of Meisenheim and Herrstein. We love our regional way of life! Barbecues and our regional beer in summer, fresh picked fruit from our orchard in autumn, whiskey-tastings on the picturesque Kyrburg (10 min drive) in Winter and a glas of wine in one of the traditional country wine taverns in the Nahe Region in spring. Every season has it's own charm here. We love bends! There is a parking space for a car on the property, further vehicles can be parked in the street. Motor- and Mountainbikes are welcome (we are motorcyclists and mountain-bikers ourselves) and can be parked in the garage upon Prior consultation. Bergen is only 3 kilometres away from the little town of Kirn. We recommend travelling by car as public transport offers only a few connections per day.
