Set in the heart of the New Forest in the idyllic location of Swan Green, our quaint cottage is within walking distance of the picturesque town of Lyndhurst. With direct access to many forest walks, spend your days walking, cycling or just relaxing and watching the horses graze in front of the cottage. Its directly across from a great local pub, The Swan Inn, where you will get a warm welcome from Sybil and her team. Great for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). Our grade II listed 'chocolate box' thatched cottage was built in the 1600s and has been newly renovated to a high standard. With over 400 years of history, you can expect lots of character and original features throughout...low ceilings, flagstone floors and some higgledy piggledy walls and floors...all adds to its charm! Guests will have access to the entire property. Although I'm not based in the New Forest I am available to help with all questions, give advice, local knowledge, tips and recommendations. The cottage is situated on the outskirts of Emery Down village where there is an historic Church and renowned pub, The New Forest Inn. The village sits within miles of open forest with the neighbouring village of Lyndhurst, regarded as the capital of the New Forest. The village of Brockenhurst (about 4 miles) has a mainline rail connection to London/Waterloo (journey time approximately 90 minutes). The coastline and Georgian market town of Lymington famed for its river, marinas and yacht clubs lies some 10 miles to the south of the property. The cottage is within walking distance of the pretty town of Lyndhurst. Nearby towns and villages can be accessed by marked walks through the forest, bike, car, taxi or bus. There is off street parking for one car at the rear of the cottage. All other cars can be parked on the street free of charge.
