Great location for the Cotswolds and River Thames
The Gatehouse at Butlers Court Granary is 100m down a quiet private lane, within easy walking distance of Lechlade with pubs, cafes and the Thames. It's a detached building, comprising a shower room and wc, kitchen (fridge, microwave, Nespresso) and a large airy bedroom/living room, with a cosy log burner and patio doors to the private deck. The super-king 'zip-and-link' bed can be split into twin beds if pre-requested. Private off road parking. Own front door. The Gatehouse at Butlers Court Granary is in the Cotswolds ANOB, the Cotswolds Water park (with over 100 lakes), and is close to the Thames and some of the UK's most lovely towns, villages and gardens - so it's a great place to escape for a short break. Stay in and enjoy the leather 3-seater sofa or deep tweed armchair in front of the log burner, and the luxury king-sized divan bed with double electric blanket and the designer shower room. Or go out for walks by the Thames or in the Cotswold villages and find a cosy pub - or pamper treat yourself in one of the local spas (see the Guide on this listing for more information). Its peacefully located 100 yards down a private lane, yet only a 10 minute easy walk to Lechlade town centre (four pubs, four cafes, restaurants, pharmacy, delis, post office, garage - and convenience stores open 7 days a week). The Gatehouse is very private and stylish - a perfect retreat. Free wi-fi (fibre broad band), constant hot water, oak flooring, good lighting, blue tooth speaker, DAB radio, hairdryer, super-king bed (which can be split into singles if pre-requested to Alick), a kitchen area with fridge, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker and washing machine, and a well equipped shower-room. The log burner will be laid and a full wood basket is provided (further logs at £10 per bag). You will have exclusive use of gated gravel drive for parking directly in front of the building. The Gatehouse, and its deck, is a detached property which guests have sole use of. Guests also have sole use of the gated, walled and hedged gravel drive in front of the Gatehouse to park (the owners park their car in the farmyard outside the gates). However, the entrance gates are the only access to the owners' house so the owners will pass by on foot, on the other side of the gravel drive, from time to time. Guests can access the property using the key box and can come and go as they please. The owners live on site in the main house and will be happy to answer specific queries if they are there. Or you can stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet in the deep sofa or armchair in front of the log burner, and keep yourselves to yourselves. It's a perfect retreat from the world. There are superb gastro-pubs and restaurants locally (within 3 miles) including Thyme, the Bell at Langford, The Plough at Kelmscott and the Five Alls at Filkins. Local attractions include National Trust sites at Buscott Manor, the Coleshill Estate and Great Coxwell; the Cotswold Wildlife Park; the beautiful Cotswold Waterpark lakes; and walks along the Thames, Coln and Windrush rivers. There are local spa treatments at Thyme, The Double Red Duke, and Barnsley House There are too many gorgeous villages to list - but Swinbrook, Bibury, Eastleach and Southrop are all outstanding. Local towns such as Burford, Fairford and Cirencester offer a wide range of shops and services, and are stunning to visit. The Gatehouse backs on to open fields which are popular with walkers and runners The M4 (junction 15) is a 20 minute drive away. Oxford, and Cheltenham are each a 45 minute drive away, and Bath is an hour. The Gatehouse is near many walks and walking routes including the Thames path and the Cotswold Way.
