Large Quirky Sunny Farmhouse Apartment

The apartment is spacious, bright, and sunny. Full of charming and quirky old details like original windows, hardwood floors, and not many right angles. Definitely not a vanilla box. The furnishings are clean and comfortable and go with the farmhouse feel. Please note that the private staircase used to access the apartment is original to the house. It is steep by contemporary standards and the tread depths are all a little wonky. This is a sweet apartment in the 2nd floor of our old farmhouse. The space is full of charm and character, and we have decorated it to accentuate the space and light. There are too many closets to list, so plenty of storage. We aim to provide everything one might want or need during their stay, so if you think of anything that might be a good addition just let us know. The unit is comprised of a private entry mud room, great for storing suitcases etc. Then a large eat in kitchen with gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker. A bright hallway leads to a large bathroom with tub/shower combo, and then a huge bedroom / living area with a queen bed, day bed (this is a full length mattress, slightly narrower than a twin- better suited for kids than adults), chest of drawers, and large closets. We live in the first floor of the house and we are very friendly and always available. That said, we're also happy to let you do your own thing. This is a great neighborhood. We are situated between Northampton center and Florence center and are walkable to both. Florence is a 10 minute walk, and Northampton is a 25 minute walk. There is a trail that runs along the river leading to the Smith College campus, and the entrance is a 10 minute walk from the house. By car you are within 5 minutes from the aforementioned destinations. With orchards and fields across the street the location feels a little bit country, but is right in town. Easy access to pretty much everything. Easy access to town and campus via walking, biking (check out the bike path) or driving. Our kids are young and full of energy. General kid noise can be expected during the day, but by 8pm all is quiet and we'd like the same from our guests. We work and play hard and really like our sleep! We also have 2 dogs that live downstairs with us. They occasionally bark if someone comes to the door, other than that they are mellow and quiet.
