Churnet Retreat is beautifully presented newly refurbished cottage of local interest, set within a quaint & peaceful village close to Churnet Valley. It is in walking distance of three village pubs, a local food store and high class butchers. Its is situated to take in the views over to the countryside & has many walks & cycling routes from the doorstep. Its in the ideal location on the edge of the Peaks to explore the area & visit Alton Towers (7 miles) Bakewell (21 mile) Dovedale (12 miles) The cottage has a modern, fresh, country feel with lots of light beaming through the rear patio doors and roof light. The traditional modern kitchen is well equipped with Bosch appliances and a coffee maker. It also provides an comfortable seating area where you enjoy a tea and look over the private garden and view the birds. Or in good weather you can step out onto the south facing patio and take a lunch on the outside table. For shade you can sit under the pergola or stretch out on a luxury sunbed and dip in and out of the hot tub or make use of a BBQ/Fire area. The living/diner offers plenty of space for 4 guests with a comfy corner sofa surrounding a fireplace which houses a log burner for those cosy evenings in watching the smart TV or listening to music via the smart speaker. Upstairs (1st Floor) is the main double rooms, having a smart TV. The second flor double has velux windows with great views and a lower room which is a dressing/makeup area. Also on th e first floor is a modern luxury shower room with a powerful dual shower facility. The property has 4g wifi and private parking for 1 vehicle and 1 on quiet road. Parking is available at the property for 2 cars only. I live locally so Im on hand to meet and greet and help guests if needed, Ipstones is a small farming village, mostly built in the attractive local sandstone, situated just to the north of the Churnet Valley and a few miles south of the National Park boundary. It is a charming place, very handily placed for Alton Towers and for gentle walks around the heavily ancient wooded Churnet Valley, The Roaches, Dovedale and Waterhouses, with the end of the Manifold Track, also within easy reach. There is the excellent RSPB Coombs Valley nature reserve, Tittesworth Lake, Rudgard Lake, Trentham Gardens and the Canals of Staffordshire also in close proximity. Ipstones is also unique for the area as it has three very good pubs all in very lose walking distance (2 mins) one of which is highly rated on the internet for its menu. Also Foxt, the next village on from Ipstones has an amazing teashop called Hettys located at the side of he Canal and also a well regarded pub. The Churnet steam railway also offers afternoon teas on its trips through the countryside. If you have time you can visit the location of The Great Pottery Show Down at Gladstone Potteries and have a tour back in time taking a look at the old potters. Or head out to Buxton or Leek with there tearooms and quaint independent shops. Public transport and taxis are available Early check in (1pm) is available at a cost of £45.00 Late check out (1pm) is available at cost of £55.00 Please request prior to your arrival to see if available.
