The Coast House @ Dungeness - big skies, sea view

The Coast House is a super-comfortable bungalow in Dungeness, an amazing spot on the Kent Coast. With uninterrupted views of the sea, on a clear day the White Cliffs of Dover and the French coast can be seen through the panoramic windows of the sitting room. The house is decorated in a simple and modern way and is designed for relaxation and comfort. The open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting-room are perfect for socialising and there is also a large TV and wifi. The famous Hythe and Dymchurch steam railway, the world's smallest passenger train, passes by at the back of the garden and lends a unique and rather magical atmosphere to the house. The house has two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, and one with a large walk-in 'deluge' shower. There is underfloor heating throughout, and good quality mattresses, linen and towels. The owners live 45 minutes' drive from the property and can be contacted to resolve issues. Our house-keeper lives nearby and she can usually respond quickly. Dungeness with its big skies and huge views is a unique spot on the south Kent coast near East Sussex. The wonderful sandy beaches of Greatstone and Camber are both just a short drive away, and the cinque port town of Rye, with its famous medieval streets, good restaurants and numerous antique shops is about 20 minutes by car. The house is located only 100 metres from the famous Pilot Inn, well-known for its fish-and-chips, and the Fish Shack in Dungeness is only ten minutes' walk and serves wonderful fish wraps in an informal outdoor setting. There is a bus-stop very near the house but a car is really needed to get to the house and make the most of the surrounding area. There is parking for up to three cars in the driveway of the house.
