The Bunker (Holmfirth’s hidden gem!) with parking!

(Website hidden by Airbnb) Our lovely Bunker is situated 3 minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth . Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather. The Bunker is delightfully private and self contained but only a stones throw from the centre of Holmfirth. Equally it is just a few minutes walk to the hills that made Holmfirth popular in "The Last of the Summer Wine" tv show. We offer a dedicated parking space. Additionally we close and lock our gate to ensure guest vehicle security. We can accommodate 2 guest vehicles if parked in tandem. We are a partly retired couple with 4 grown up children and like to meet our guests on arrival whenever possible. We happy to answer any questions that you might have about the locality and its amenities, show you the odd walk or help you find the green lanes if you are a keen off roader motorcyclist. If a stay at The Bunker for you means no cooking then we can most definitely advise you of the places for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We aim to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Check-in from 3pm and check-out by 11am. PLEASE NOTE there are 8 steps down to The Bunker with a metal handrail. We are located close to the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off on foot down the hill to town . Please note that South Lane is steep but there is an easier shingle path up our garden to The Bunker. Our hens are free range so don't be surprised to find one trotting up the path with you. They may even lay you an egg for breakfast! Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, motorcycling/cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. We have many wonderful cycling roads in fact 'The Tour de France' route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. There is a doctors surgery, council owned public gym and swimming pool less than 15 minutes walk away. Holmfirth has a central bus station, an abundance of taxi providers and many brilliant local circular walks in the vicinity.
