Room with private bathroom in heart of Mechelen
Welcome in the center of Mechelen. From your room (quite a few stairs up) you have a lovely view over the city. You can use the bathroom just next to your room where you can help yourself to clean towels, shampoo, hairdryer. You are welcome to prepare simple meals but please leave the kitchen the way you found it. You would like a simple breakfast? Let me know and I can see what I can arrange for you for a small fee. The tourist tax of 5 euro per night is NOT included. The room is not large, but contains a desk and a double bed (not very wide though). A clothing rack and a closet to organize your clothes and stuff when staying longer. There is also a small fridge. As Mechelen is not far from Brussels and Antwerp you will find the touristguides 'Hidden secrets' for you to use to prepare your sightseeing trips. TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION FROM CORONA I think it is wiser not to use the kitchen as I am around there often. In normal times you can have access to my kitchen to prepare simple meals. You are also welcome to use the spices available so no need to bring those. But please note the kitchen is part of my work/living area :) CORONA UPDATE: according to regulations by the national government, I work from home every day until the end of August at least. But I work a fulltime job so during daytime I can hardly be reached by phone. I do however have access to emails and text messages. At night however I am usually around and always wiling to share information. Funky Jungle, Café Zapoy, De Floeren Aap, De Haenekeef, De Gouden VIs, Il Cardinale, l'Artista, Al Parma, Ronda, Carbon... These are my favourite places for a bite to eat and to have a nice beer. The Grote Markt is beautiful and only 300m away. The newly opened museum Hof van Busleyden, is just around the corner. And... Mechelen is not a big town so you can easily walk to all the interesting places. Although in the center of town, my home is in a very quiet street, no loud traffic noises. The train station Nekkerspoel is only a 10min walk Telenet is also only 10min by foot. Parking is not easy in any center of town, but the busstops are either 50m or 200m away. Nekkerspoel Station is about 10 min away. You can park your car for free at the Douaneplein and walk about 12 min to my place. Please note that there is a tourist tax of € 5/room/night (yes it is extremely expensive) in our town. This is NOT included in the fee.
