Located in the glorious Sussex countryside yet only 15 minutes drive from the Sunshine Coast of Eastbourne which has a beautiful seafront and award winning beaches. Set within the landscaped grounds of Glyndley Manor House we offer a delightful and cosy cottage with access to a communal seasonal swimming pool. Within the 17 acres of grounds there is a sunken garden, woodland walks and fishing lake. Easy access to many Sussex attractions making your holiday as relaxing or energetic as you wish. Cuckoo Cottage is situated in the grounds of a elegant Manor House in East Sussex. Tastefully decorated all on one level. Open plan living/dining room with access to fully equipped kitchen. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. Two twin bedrooms, one with french doors leading onto the garden. You will have use of the whole cottage including the fishing lake and the peaceful grounds of the Manor House. Use of the outdoor swimming pool is seasonal. We are available anytime if you have any queries or need assistance during your stay. Just up the road from this cottage is the Cuckoo trail (after which the cottage takes its name). The picturesque trail follows the former 'Cuckoo Line' railway track and stretches from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park. It passes through Horam, Hailsham and Polegate. This famous trail is 13mile (21km) surfaced path through the Sussex countryside, mostly traffic free and is a safe route for walkers and cyclists of all ages. We are 4 miles from Eastbourne which has a beautiful seafront, award winning beaches (Blue Flag) and many attractions for all the family to enjoy. The area was voted 'The Most Sunniest Place in Great Britain' and includes the largest seafront airshow - Airbourne and international tennis championships. Nearby is Brighton, Hastings and the medieval town of Rye with its charming blend of antiques shops and art galleries and attracts visitors from all over the world. Or you can visit Camber's stunning stretch of sandy beach and is the perfect get-away with miles of unspoilt coast and the only sand dune system in East Sussex. Alternatively for those wanting to explore the outdoors a visit to the South Downs and area of outstanding natural beauty is a must, there are trails for you to walk or cycle and for the more adventurous some great outdoor pursuits such as horse riding, ballooning, golf, hang gliding and paragliding. This unspoilt pocket of coastline has played a vital role in the history of England. Pevensey has been on the frontline during Roman and Norman times and was central to the defence of the country from the Spanish Armada, Napoleon and Hitler. Today, Pevensey is one the South Coast's leading locations for windsurfing and water sports and is within easy driving distance of Cuckoo Cottage. Only 1 hours drive from London Gatwick Airport. Easy access to road and motorway. Nearest train station Pevensey Westham. Cross channel ferry services located in Newhaven. We can only accept Saturday check in.
