“La Sicilia dei Viceré” takes its name from the ancient county of Caltanissetta, where the powerful family Moncada settled from 1400 to 1800. Caltanissetta has a flourishing economy; its area is rich in interesting naturalistic landscapes and important architectural churches or palaces. Today, this area offers many things to see; the central location of the residence is close to the routes of great hystorical, social and cultural interest. The residence is near the bus stop and the hystorical local market "strata a foglia" (during the daytime it is full of pictoresque sounds, typical scents and colours, at night it turns into a trendy area famous for its night clubs and pubs). The residence is fully furnished and comfortable, a suitable place for seasonal workers or tourists. It has been carefully restored, in full compliance with its original simple style of the early 1900s. Here you can also find many books and documents on Caltanissetta in order to learn more about the surrounding area, its outstanding landscapes, its past events….. I can’t wait to see you. The residence offers absolute privacy, a personal bathroom and fitted kitchen, so you are completely independent thanks to its private entrance. Nearby you can visit the church Maria SS. della Provvidenza, a real 1800s jewel that overlooked the entire town. After an interesting sightseeing in the hystorical center, it may be involving (or adventurous?) to explore the distinctive alleys of this area (behind the building) and to enjoy the ancient side of the town. Today this area is in decline but still shows the vestiges of an ancient splendor. “La Sicilia dei Viceré” is near the bus stop (bus route 3 from 7:45am to 7:45pm every 60 minutes). Last bus stop is near the coach and railway station; here you can take the bus route 3 to go back to the residence. You can download a freeware program from Telegram, Scatbot, and have the bus timetable or routes in real-time. Ticket’s lifetime is 75 minutes and it can be used for all bus routes. In this way you can easily find where all buses are exactly and the way back to the residence.
