Villa Melpomeni

The house is located in the top of the village, just 200m below the historic castle of Molyvos offering its guests a splendid view from its veranda. The house belonged to the Tsivgouli family, well known in the village in the early 20th century. When Melpomeni Tsivgouli passed away, her god san (my father) inherited the house which was heavily damaged from a fire. In 2004, we decided to rebuild it and reconstruction works finished in 2005. Since then, we have enjoyed spending our summer time and sharing it with our friends. Molyvos has been recognized and protected as historical landmark. For this reason reconstruction works respected the local character and tradition of all stone classic style houses of the village. In the interior you will find many traditional furniture and handcrafts from the historical village of Agiassos (in the south of the island), photos of the Tsivgouli family, their friends and relatives, as well as photos and paintings of the village and the island. The 3 bedrooms can accommodate 6 people in twin or double beds, while the sofa from Agiasso’s village in the living room in the 1st floor may sleep a 7th person. It is ideal for friends, couples or families with children. The price of the house is adaptable depending on the number of people (excluding babies up to the age of 2). We have done our best to ensure that our house offers everything that you need at top quality while all cotton sheets, pillows, towels and duvets, and most small electric appliances are brand new. In the entrance of the house you have a small yard where you can enjoy relaxing sunny moments in our seating furniture as well as cook in the barbeque. In the basement you will find two bedrooms sharing one bathroom, while in the first floor the master bedroom has its en-suite bathroom, the kitchen is fully equipped to cater all your needs and the living room (which may sleep another person) with the fire place has access to the unique veranda of the house with panoramic view of Molyvos coast. Our verandas are equipped with bamboo seating furniture to enjoy the splendid view all day long. The house provides for TV, CD player, Wi fi (24 Mps), brand new air condition of the ultimate technology in all bedrooms, hot water 24hrs a day, hair dryers in both bathrooms, iron, clean and top quality sheets and towels, duvets for the winter, and cotton blankets for the summer. Upon request we can provide a baby cot and a baby seat for your baby. In addition, in case you wish to use the barbeque we can provide you with the necessary equipment upon request. When you arrive at the castle, Victor will be happy to welcome you and show you around. We have already prepared for you a small dossier with all the necessary information to ensure a wonderful stay in our house as well as unforgettable vacations in the island. We will also be at your disposal for any additional information. The house is 5 minutes walk from the historic castle, where you can always park your car, in a quite neighborhood just one block below the church of Taxiarhis overlooking the village. Although the house is on the top of the hill so you can enjoy the wonderful view of the village, it is only 5 minutes walk to the bakery and the mini market, and 10 minutes walk from the main market where you can find pharmacy, ATMs, car rental shops etc.
