Ideal for short stays, holidays or business trips. Cock Clarks is a small village, with a Public House, set in the countryside a short distance to Maldon. The Annexe is open plan, with a double bed, large comfy leather sofa, wall-mounted TV, dining table, and kitchen area. Please Note: the kitchen has a convection microwave oven but no traditional oven. It also has a large wardrobe for clothes and storage—onsite double-gated, secure parking for two cars. Set in 2 1/2 acres of semi-rural land. The main house is on-site but far enough away for your stay to be private. The self-contained annexe has a private entrance, private patio, and space to park two cars. Drive through the two wooden gates into the central area of the house. Press the intercom on the driver's side of the gates when you arrive. Access to the self-contained annexe will be through the double patio doors at the front, and the key to the annexe will be waiting for you in the key box. Once you pick up your keys from the key box, you will have your key fob to open and close the gates during your stay. You have your patio in front of the annexe, but feel free to say hello to our three goats (Chester, Cindy, and Charlie). You have a parking space next to the annexe. We are based on-site for any problems with your stay, but otherwise, your stay would be completely private and we will leave you alone to enjoy your stay. Cock Clarks is a small village, with a Public House, set in the countryside a short distance to the southwest of the riverside town of Maldon. Maldon offers a choice of supermarkets and a busy High Street with a wide selection of shops, including a choice of traditional Butchers, Public Houses, and restaurants. Neighbouring villages include Purleigh (1.5 miles) and Danbury (3 miles). The surrounding countryside offers a great network of footpaths for country walks. Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a 5 mins drive from the property, with an exciting visitors museum and the rare sight of historic wartime aircraft. The famous Tiptree Tea Room, Museum, and Jam Shop is located 25 mins from Cock Clarks. Chelmsford city centre is a 30 min drive, and offers a selection of bars and a wide selection of places to eat from independent family restaurants to well-known chain restaurants serving cuisines from around the world; Chelmsford features a comprehensive range of shopping facilities with its pedestrianised High Street, two shopping precincts, and hugely popular Bond Street with John Lewis store. There are also many leisure facilities, including Riverside Ice Rink and leisure centre. Colchester Zoo is located within a 40 min drive from Cock Clarks. No public transport, but lots of places to walk or ride a bike. The property is not suitable for pets, due to the pigmy goats on the farm. It is also not suitable for children, as the annexe electrical outlets are not sealed off with safety plugs etc. There is a microwave but no other cooking facilities. There is a local pub within walking distance for very reasonably priced freshly cooked meals (The Fox and Hounds). You may hear some goat noises from the stables, as they are quite near the annexe.
