Duncannon is renowned historically due to its strategic position on the Waterford Harbour estuary on the Hook Head Peninsula (home of one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe). Superb area for walking, sailing, fishing (charter fishing available locally), bird and dolphin watching. Passage East car ferry to Waterford. Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys. John F. Kennedy Arboretum. Horse riding and golf courses in the area.
