Characterful cottage in the lovely Suisse-Normande

Nestled in the picturesque valley of the River Orne in Calvados, this stone-built, end-of-terrace, three-bedroomed cottage offers spacious and comfortable accommodation. It has a sizeable garden, fast Broadband and extensive television channels. Situated in delightful open countryside with fine walking, the attractive tourist centre of Pont d’Ouilly is only five minutes’ drive away – offering numerous holiday attractions, including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, pedaloes and trekking. There are plenty of books and games for adults and children alike, plus a cupboard full of DVDs and CDs, as well as an ipod dock for music lovers. Guests have access to the cottage and across from the cottage there is a shed (atalier) with toys and garden equipment. Upstairs in the shed there is a single bed with a portable camping toilet. Beyond that there is a dedicated courtyard with a table and chairs. There is also a large gated garden with a trampolene and swing. We are available via phone or email. There are also extensive notes and instructions about the house and surrounding area to help visitors make the most of their stay. There is a play park for young children nearby, and the picturesque River Orne is within 5 minutes' walk. The town of Pont d'Ouilly is a 5-minute drive away, and Falaise, the birthplace of William the Conqueror is 15km to the east. The popular tourist attraction of Roche d'Oetre lies less than 4km away. There are supermarkets and filling stations in both Pont d'Ouilly and Falaise. And, 35 minutes' drive away is the manmade beach area of La Ferte-Mace, with sandy beach, lovely clear lake that's safe for swimming and paddling, with plenty of facilities such as pedalos and kayaking for all the family, with extensive free parking and an on-site cafe. The cottage is in a rural area with abundant fine walking, including several grande randonnée trekking routes. There are books and games for adults and children in the house and shed, as well as two adult bikes and a 10 foot trampoline with safety net in the back garden.
