DISCOUNTED Peaceful Dog Friendly Retreat
Set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside in the village of Parkhead, between South Wingfield and Crich The property is an ideal base for walking, writing, climbing, cycling, exploring and relaxing. Close to Crich Tranway and an ideal base for Chatsworth and Haddon The property is very rural with outstanding views across to South Wingfield Outside there is the use of an above ground pool during the summer and seating areas (closed Oct -May) The space has a contemporary look with a large spacious living area. There is a double bedroom upstairs next to a living area with breakfast bar, downstairs is the shower room and kitchenette. Outside there are numerous seating areas and an above ground heated pool open in May - Oct During Off-Peak you may request a one night bookings with a surcharge of £20 Guests can share use of the private garden and off road parking. Minimal contact with guests, however phone numbers provided to contact if any issues. We live on site if needed to sort any issues The property is in a rural location away from any roads about a mile down a bridleway. Crich is approx 2 miles away, which can be easily walked to on public footpaths and offers a village store, bakery, butchers, Indian takeaway and fish and chip shop. The Crich Tramway Village is a great day out and dog friendly too. Open daily until Nov The Loaf at Crich is a fabulous place for breakfasts and lunches, as well as artisan breads. The Jerra Indian in Crich is open from 6pm each day (except Mon) and is well recommended A local Chinese will do home delivery Pesto Italian at Oakerthorpe is excellent and does small plates. Well Recommended The White Hart Inn, Moorwood Moor is a great place to eat, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is within walking distance however it is via a public foot path and there is a fairly steep climb on return trip (approx 10 mins down to the pub, 20 mins back !!) The Bluebell, South Wingfield, is open Tuesday - Sunday from 12noon, It serves fabulous food and is a great place for lunch when exploring the area. The Yew Tree Inn in South Wingfield is a 30minute walk again along a public foot path Wingfield Manor can be seen from our property and again there is a great walk past the ruins, it is run by English Heritage and to gain access you need to contact them directly as not open on a regular basis. There is a regular bus that stops on the B5035 that can take you to Crich and Matlock. Ideal base for Chatsworth and Haddon Hall Car essential The property is about a mile down a tarmac bridleway There is a public bus service that stops on the B5035 that can take you to Crich and Matlock There are many great walks to local pubs and restaurants The living space has a selection of games, books, DVDs There is a cinema screen that can be used on request. Well behaved pets are welcome on request, a cleaning surcharge of £20 per animal is charged which needs to be paid in cash at the property Please note there are horses, sheep, terriers and cats living at the property There is an above ground pool that is heated, from May - Oct, which may be used (obviously the owners of the property also use the pool so while it is a private pool it is not for the exclusive use of guests) Note The Outdoor Pool is heated and is about 22-28.5 degrees depending on the outside temperature, however this can on windy cold days feel colder!! It is professionally maintained and serviced for PH. Chlorine and alkalinity levels. It is under a tree so may get the odd leaves in it too. It is approximately 4ft deep and 25ft long.
