Two rooms apartment at Magganitis of Ikaria isl. settled at one of the most interesting parts of the island. The nature and beaches are breathtaking. Calm, peacefull can make your vacation unforgetable. With our Ikarian spirit can help you explore the island. With love and respect to the nature and the character of our island we made our rooms, "Zacharoula" or "Sugary rooms". Ikaria island is unique among greek islands. Ikaria is named for Icarus, son of Daedalus, the legendary architect of King Minos’ Cretan labyrinth. When the two tried to escape from Minos’ prison on wings of wax, Icarus ignored his father’s warning, flew too close to the sun and crashed into the sea, creating Ikaria – a rocky reminder of the dangers of overweening ambition. Greek myth also honours Ikaria as the birthplace of Dionysos, god of wine and joy. Magganitis our village is also an amazing place with breathtaking beaches and nature. The thousands Menhirs of the area at this full green landscape with olive trees, figs, pinetrees and holm oaks, give the village its unique character. Coming from Evdilos port towards Magganitis, a tunel leads you to our village and by the time visitors see it realise it worthed to visit. Natural springs, trecking and walking paths, flowers , forests and wonderful beaches were used at the canvas of Magganitis. The crystal clear blue and green water of the beaches attract you and literally makes you forget about everything. The beaches of Magganitis, are among the safest and calmest of the island. With our Ikarian spirit can help you to explore most of the beauties of the island and be sure will do our best on it. Every summer, from May until September, more than 100 traditional "fiestas" take place at Ikaria. Fiestas take place at openair places. Dancing folk dances, eating traditional food and drinking local wine, promise a great experience. Also from Magganitis you can take daily tours by boat to near by virgin beaches. You can depart early in the morning and return back at the afternoon. Our rooms, now, are five, individual rooms, totally harmonic at our village's spirit. Sunny and airy, with view to the sea, the mountain and the village, will make you feel like local. The studio has a double bed and closets. There is also frigde and aircondition. A very beautiful balcony where you have view towards the sea and the mountain. It has also big fully equiped kitchen. Our rooms are fully equipped with bed-linen and towels. Relaxing at the balcony or the yard you can enjoy your coffee or wine with view towards the sea,the mountain or the village. From our rooms, walking at a very beautiful path, beach of Magganitis is just 15 minutes. At our village you can find whatever you may want. Cafes and small traditional restaurants serve "mezes" and local food. Besides, Ikarian kitchen is well known international for the longevity that "offers" to the people of Ikaria. So feel free to enjoy local food and wine, fresh and delicious at the elegant places of the vilage. There is also mini market for your needs. Night time you can enjoy your drinks at the bar of the village just by the sea or at the traditional cafes. From the port or the airport to our place there are taxis. Also there are many car or scooter rentals. C Ιούλιος 2018 A wonderful place for us (a family of four) and very kind hosts. Thank you Stella and Stefanos for your kind hospitality, the delicious cake and many intersting conversations on the place, its history and the nature. We hope to be back! Το προφίλ του/της Marie Marie Μάϊος 2018 The place is nice with a great view from the garden. The room and bathroom are small but offer everything you need. The kitchen is outdoor and only for basic cooking, it’s exactly as seen in the pictures. The host was very welcoming, friendly, helpful and always available for us. Magganitis is beautiful and I can absolutely recommend to stay there. Το προφίλ του/της Guido And Sarah Guido And Sarah Οκτώβριος 2017 Stella's place is a beautiful gem, but we were most impressed with Stellas friendly presence. She is a brilliant host and we were really happy to be able to stay with her. We were sad to leave obviously and hope to come back as soon as possible. If you stay with Stella you will certainly enjoy the peacefulness of the place and the view over the sea. The beautifully designed rooms like from the hands of an Interior Designer. If you like cats and the possibility of seeing lonely beaches you are in the right place. Stella is a very friendly host that makes everyone feel at home but also leaves you your private space. You will certainly enjoy a stay in this little fisher village Magganitis. Το προφίλ του/της Guillermo Guillermo Αύγουστος 2017 Our experience in the house was excellent. Stella and Stephanos received and treated us like trully friends, sometimes they gave us fruits or herbs or whatever they had, they were very kind and always disposed to help us, of course, we left the house so sad. The place and the town are quiteful but at the same time, you can enjoy the typical life of Ikaria. I reccomend it a lot and we'll come back for sure. Το προφίλ του/της Elisabeth Elisabeth Ιούλιος 2017 Stella is the lady who welcomed us on our arrival. She is very friendly, competent, and loves the contact with people. We arrived earlier than planned and were given coffee and cookies while waiting for the rooms to be ready. The location is ideal if you want to spend some time in quiet surroundings, away from tourist chaos. The rooms are very clean and fresh; if we needed something we only had to ask. A car is needed to go shopping for food and to visit other sites; there is one supermarket in Evdilos (30 min.) and another one in Agios Kirikos (60 min). Do not hesitate to ask Stella or her husband for information on where to buy local products, where to go to eat some very good fresh fish etc. We were very touched by the extreme kindness of our hosts who have made our stay really nice. As we say in Italy, they have the heart in their hands. We will go back! Το προφίλ του/της Mira Mira Ιούλιος 2016 Staying in Stella's house at Magganitis was wonderful. She is a a uniquely lovely person and keeps her cosy room spotless clean. On arrival she picked us up as we got lost. There was a homemade cake, fruits and cold water in our room. She is a very good cook, try her omelettes for breakfast. If we manage to visit peaceful and beautiful Ikaria again, we will stay with her for sure. Her daughter Hellen is also very nice and helps with the house and translates sometimes. You have an own fridge and a shared outside kitchen+tables. There is a washing maschine and you get fresh linen after a couple of days. Magganitis is a sweet and remote village with a little beach in walking distance. To explore the island a rental car is adviseble. Thania is a friend of theirs who cared about the air bnb page. If you get there ask for Zacharoula rooms.
