Self contained lodge in Sarratt with kitchen

The pretty, self-contained Lodge offers a generous sized double bedroom and comfortable living accommodation with privacy in a rural, stable environment. The picturesque village of Sarratt, gastro pubs, village store and Post Office is just a 5 minute walk. On the edge of the Chilterns with stunning walks, it is conveniently located to Leavesden, Elstree and Pinewood studios with a 7-10 minute drive to the M25 and nearest station. A direct train into London is 30 mins. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, The Lodge is conveniently located on the outskirts of Sarratt Green. It is situated in a working environment with horses although the Lodge offers guests privacy in a secluded area. Guests can enjoy a rural setting surrounded by wildlife including pheasants, deer, a variety of wild birds, and some friendly free range chickens (without the noisy cockerels!) with the benefit of being conveniently located for travel connections. The Lodge is situated at the bottom of the driveway of the main house which passes through a stable yard. It is not in direct view of the main house but set back with ample parking for two cars. There is an expansive patio area with composite decking and outdoor sofas for those summer, or dry, cooler evenings. The decking area leads to a private entrance to the Lodge. The patio has a comfortable bistro set for those wishing to enjoy alfresco dining, and an outside fire pit for atmospheric evenings. The Lodge contains all the facilities needed for work, a practical stay or relaxing break. The double bedroom is very generous in size, fully carpeted with two wardrobes, double chest of drawers and two side tables. There is a spacious bathroom, vinyl tiled with a large towel rail and separate heater. With a walk-in shower, toilet, hand basin and washing machine, it contains all the essentials needed for longer staying guests. In the open plan living room guests will find a well equipped kitchen with a comprehensive range of cooking utensils, saucepans, bowls, baking trays and oven dishes for all cooking needs. The kitchen area also contains a Nespresso coffee machine, cafetière, oven, microwave and hob. The living room area is cosily furnished with an inviting wood burning stove for those chilly evenings, dining table, chairs, two sofas, TV a wide selection of DVDs, books, games and a radio. For those wishing to enjoy the countryside, there are plenty of stunning walks across the Chilterns, down to the River Chess and along to the neighbouring picturesque village, Chenies. The pretty village of Sarratt is just a 5 minute walk away where you will find a well-stocked village store and Post Office for all your essential needs together with three gastro pubs, two of which are renowned for good food. There are three large local supermarkets; Waitrose, M&S Food and Tesco. Located in Rickmansworth, they are just 10-15 minutes by car. Of local interest are the famous Harry Potter at Warner Bros Leavesden studios, a mere 15 minute drive away; Elstree and Pinewood Studios 20-30 minutes away; the luxurious Grove, a 5 star retreat with spa, a championship golf course and fine dining, just 10 minutes by car; Watford Town Centre, with its nightclubs, bars and bustling restaurants, a 15 minute drive away. The nearest train station has both underground and Chiltern railway services linking directly to Baker Street and the City or Marylebone stations in just 30 minutes. The property is only 10 minutes by car to Rickmansworth and the M25, and a 7 minute drive to Chorleywood train station. There is drive access to The Lodge with generous parking for 2 cars for our guests. There is a step up to a large patio area with private access to the entrance. Groom’s Lodge, Sarratt is approximately 15 minutes drive to Leavesden Studios Harry Potter World, 10 minutes drive to the luxurious Grove Country House and 15 minutes by car to Watford shopping centre and night life. A trip into London from the nearest station takes just 30 minutes to Baker Street. Groom’s Lodge is just 7 minutes by car from the nearest underground train station. Taxi cabs are located immediately outside the station. If travelling by car, it is just 10 minutes from the M25.
