Couples farm break with cosy log burner & fire pit
Oxton Hill Hideaway Paddock View is a lovely shepherds hut located on our equestrian farm. It has its own kitchenette, double bed, ensuite bathroom, garden/patio and gas BBQ (on request). Also includes a fabulous log burning stove and a basket of logs. It is truly a hotel room in a hut. Use the bridle paths on our farm which link to neighbouring villages or visit the historic Minster town of Southwell. We are dog friendly (small cleaning charge). All linen is provided too. Fire pits to hire. Everything is provided in the hut that you would need so just bring yourselves. Catering facilities include a combination microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster and a gas BBQ is available on request. The super comfy double bed has a warm thick duvet with extra pillows. There is a cosy log burning stove with logs and firelighters included (more logs available to buy on site), plus oil heaters too. The ensuite bathroom includes a shower, WC and basin. Also in the hut is a box of board games for you to play. We welcome well behaved dogs to the hut and even have a doggie welcome pack. There is a small additional cleaning charge of £10 payable on arrival for guests with dogs. Multiple dogs may be charged for. A dog damage deposit of £100 is required and is refunded after your visit. Guests can explore the farm footpaths and woods. The hut is located 50 m from the farm house so we are here if needed however we like our guests to have privacy so once we've introduced ourselves we leave you to it! A welcome pack is located in the hut with details on local pubs, walks etc Our hut is located on our scenic farm on Oxton Hill, near historic Southwell. The farm boasts the most amazing views across to Belvoir Castle. Guests can either use our farm and the bridle paths to walk or visit local towns like Southwell which are a short drive away. Local pubs are a short 2 minute drive away also. Walkable to is Hollybeck Garden Centre that offers yummy food from 9-5 most days. Guests enjoy bringing their dogs, relaxing in their gardens, stopping over for short trips or bringing a horse for a holiday. Bring or hire bikes and visit Sherwood Pines, cycle along the River Trent or see the historic Major Oak in Robin Hoods Sherwood Forest. Nottingham city centre is a 30 minute drive away with cinemas, theatres and bars. Newark on Trent is 20 minutes drive with its historic castle, river Trent and fabulous shops/cafes. To get to the hut is easiest with a car as the farm is not on any public transport routes, there are buses into Nottingham is from Calverton or Southwell a short drive away and trains run from Lowdham (4 miles away).You will need to pick up a taxi from the station. Our farm is on a number of bridle/footpath routes to explore the countryside but also has its own paths to walk dogs or just go for a stroll. This is a working farm so sometimes there will be tractors working, horses being ridden nearby by our liveries and harvests being cut. We do have chickens and ducks who are very friendly plus we have our own dogs. We also have another hut Oxton Hill Hideaway located 50 metres away
