Hillside is a newly built limestone self contained holiday let, on the edge of a pretty Derbyshire village. Hillside overlooks the village of Bonsall (near Matlock) offering beautiful views from the windows and patio of the village and surrounding countryside. Bonsall offers 2 excellent pubs, cafe and village shop. There are numerous stunning walks from the doorstep and the renowned Limestone Way passes through the village. Chatsworth, Bakewell and the Monsal trail are all a short drive away. You are booking a self-contained one bedroom holiday home that has recently been built out of local limestone and finished to a high quality. The accommodation comprises of one bedroom, bathroom and kitchen living room all on one floor. The accommodation is on the 2nd floor of a detached property, over a garage. You will have access to your own private patio that opens up onto open countryside. You enter the property into the kitchen / living area. There is a a galley kitchen fitted with Bosch appliances (dishwasher, cooker, gas hob, fridge) and cupboard space. There is a Nespresso and coffee is provided. There is also a large sofa, kitchen table, two dining chairs and TV in this room. The cosy bedroom has fantastic views of the valley and village through a full length window. It has a double bed, bedside table, mirror and small chest of draws. Off the bedroom is a small bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, mirror and towel rail. There is parking next to the property steps on the owners private drive (the owners live next door). You access the property by 12 stone steps as the accommodation is all on one floor over a garage. You will have access to a private patio that is built into the hillside and wraps around the side and and back of the accommodation. This patio looks on to a British meadow field. We have indicated that the accommodation is not suitable for small children due to the stone steps, but please contact is if you do want to bring a child and we can talk to you about the suitability Free parking is available on site next to the accommodation. There is a bus from the village to Matlock. The nearest rail station is Cromford and Matlock, both about 2 miles away. You will have you own key, so you will have free access to the property. We live in a detached house next door, so we are on hand if there's anything you need or any information regarding the local area. Alternatively, if its peace and quiet you crave, we will leave you to enjoy your holiday! There are 2 friendly pubs in the village both serving food. The Barley Mow has its own brewery and hosts regular live music nights, as well as other popular events. There is also a cafe and a small shop with a deli. There a numerous beautiful walks from the door, including a number of historical routes, which give you an insight into the interesting history of this former lead mining village. There is also good road and mountain biking in the area and we would be happy to store bikes in our garage. We would also be happy to suggest local walks and cycle rides which take in some stunning scenery. The Peak District attractions of The Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Bakewell are all short drives away. The nearby village of Cromford has renowned historical significance for its part in the industrial revolution. There is a bus stop a short walk away from the property from which you can catch a bus into Matlock. From here you can travel further afield. The nearest train station is Cromford. Matlock, Matlock Bath and Cromford are within walking distance for the keen walker, but the footpaths are very steep in places!
