Silver Birch sleeps up to 6 guests in comfort. Perfect 'Home from home' feeling, Sheltered garden with extensive patio. Parking for 3 cars. Short walk to the Northumberland Coastal Path and to the local sandy beaches with rock pools at low tide. The house is light and airy and very family friendly. Children are welcome with travel cot/high chair provided. NB No stair gate. The garden is fully enclosed and guests can laze on the daybed after exploring the coast and castles. Guests will also be given contact details of someone who will be available in the village on arrival. Garage and shed are not accessible. I will liaise directly with guests giving contact numbers in the lead up to the stay. This is one of the most unspoilt and breathtakingly stunning coastal spots in the UK. Access to the Northumberland Coastal Path is minutes away and walkers will find this a very convenient base. Unspoilt sandy beaches, castles, fishing, micro breweries are all within 2 miles. Water sports are available in Beadnell Bay - 10 minutes drive. The Harry Potter movies were partly filmed at Alnwick Castle which is 8 miles away. Book your Quidditch lessons online. The beautiful county of Northumberland is on the doorstep : ancient castles, golf courses, Hadrian's Wall, The Cheviots, Lindisfarne. And, above all, miles and miles of empty, sandy beaches. The Joiners Arms is a minute away and is a renowned Gastro Pub. Booking is essential. (They accept The Gourmet Society card). The Ship is in Low Newton by the Sea which is 8 minutes stroll away. They have their own micro brewery. There is a bus to Alnwick from Newton every hour. Alnmouth Station and the East Coast mainline is a taxi ride away. From there it is 30 minutes to Newcastle, 3 hours to London and 1 hour to Edinburgh. NO CAR? There are several taxi companies in the area. The most reliable is SOVEREIGN TAXI 's of Alnwick. They will recommend others if they cannot help. BIKES - available to hire in Beadnell. RECYCLING I have put notices by the bins in the kitchen. Glass bottles are not recycled. CUTLERY DRAWER Please check photo on this listing. CLEANING I follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Hand sanitiser is by the front door. Windows are left open as much as possible between guests. BATH TIME To get hot water in the bath: Keep the tap turned to hot and the flow rate low. Or fill the bath from the shower head. (A whole bathroom refit will take place in November 2021 to resolve this issue which is a legacy of a cowboy builder.)
