Beautiful Grade II Listed Town House | Sleeps 7
Built in the 1600s, a fishmongers in the 1800s, luxury holiday house in the 2000s. Come and stay in a quirky piece of Faversham history! Two minutes from the centre of one of England's finest market towns, our Grade II Listed house sleeps up to 7 in all sorts of different combinations. The house is spread over three floors of exposed beams and character. From the roaring woodburner to super quick wifi, it has everything you need for a perfect break. Friendly pets welcome too! The house sleeps 7 in 2.5 bedrooms (did we mention it was old, and a bit quirky?). It was extensively refurbished in 2021 meaning a lot is brand new, or 350 years old, or somewhere in between. It's right in the centre of Faversham - being one of its 350+ listed buildings, most of which are tightly packed together. Ground floor: Large living-dining room with enormous woodburner, dining table which can seat up to 8, sofa for 8, smart television with Netflix, iPlayer, Amazon all ready to be used. Kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, and underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty. Bathroom and utility room, with shower, washing machine, tumble dryer, and all cleaning supplies if you need them. Patio garden, with garden chairs, small table, and pot plants. Sunny days and bottomless prosecco guaranteed....maybe. The three bedrooms are arranged as follows: First floor: Master bedroom, with kingsize bed, large chest of drawers, and large bay window with blackout curtains. You'll also find the large family bathroom on this floor. Second Floor: Bedroom 2 - large bedroom which can be organised in a couple of ways to suit your needs - either with 3 singles, 2 singles, or 1 kingsize. Just let us know your preference when booking. Bedroom 3 - adjoining bedroom 1 (see earlier comment about quirky!). Again this can be organised in a couple of ways to suit your party - either with 2 singles, or 1 kingsize. Just let us know your preference when booking. We also have a travel cot and mattress which can be set up as well if needed. While there isn't free parking immediately outside (other than for 30mins), there are a number of spots you can park within five minutes walk of the house. We'll show you where! If you're thinking about booking in December, rest assured there will be a small tree up and shining from the end of November to the beginning of January! Out of the front door and you have the centre of Faversham two minutes walk on your right. Try not to get distracted by the plethora of beautiful pubs (Faversham is the home of the Shepherd Neame brewery after all) along the way. There's also a large Morrisons so close you could pretty much pop there in your PJs. Turn the other way and within five minutes you're walking alongside Faversham creek out into open country and to the sea beyond. Bring your binoculars for brilliant bird watching. Or hop one stop on the train (station is a 10mins walk) to be at Whitstable for a jaunt along the coast and an oyster or two. While the house is on a one-way street without long-stay parking, you can find parking places within a five minute walk. London is only an hour by train or car! We'll be on the end of a phone if you need us, with self-access to the house. Faversham is the oldest market town in Kent, and was recorded in the Domesday book. Bursting with history (our house is one of over 300 listed buildings ), Faversham is located on a winding creek on the north Kent coast and surrounded by its maritime history. It has a brilliant array of independent shops, regular markets, captivating places to visit, walking and a reputation for fine foods. All this on your doorstep! Our house is a short walk from the train station (with high speed links to London), and has everything you need just outside your front door. There's a supermarket 2mins in one direction, and the town centre 2mins in the other. Five final points... 1. This isn't a new build! Expect narrow staircases and uneven floors... this may be exactly what you're after or the opposite. This does mean it isn't ideal for those with specific accessibility requirements or toddlers who are unsteady on stairs, our apologies. 2. Friendly pets welcome. Just ask if any specific questions or requirements. 3. The beds are infinitely flexible (ok, well not infinite, but you know what I mean), and there are ways to host more than 7 if required. Again, just message if you want to chat through options. 4. If you have any issue with the minimum stay requirements popping up when you check availability, please get in touch and we'll see what we can do! 5. In Victorian times we know it was a fishmongers, but fortunately any smell of cod has long since passed...
