This welcoming single-storey cottage is attached to the end of farm buildings and is near Rudyard and can sleep four people in two bedrooms. Wren Cottage is a single-storey cottage on the owners' working farm, less than four miles from Rudyard and is attached to the end of farm buildings. The cottage has a double and a twin room, a bathroom, kitchen and sitting room. Outside is off road parking for two cars, a private patio garden with furniture and a barbecue and shared use of the owners' lawn. Wren Cottage is ideal for riders wishing to holiday with their horse, or for families or couples looking to explore the beautiful Peak District. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales. Town: Set in a lovely countryside location the charming village of Rudyard boasts an interesting claim to fame. Alice Macdonald and her fiancé Lockwood Kipling met on the shores of the nearby lake and so decided to name their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling, born in 1865 went on to become a world renowned poet, novelist and short story writer. As well as this fateful lake, the Staffordshire village boasts excellent picnic spots, boating, walking and fishing opportunities as well as the steam railway. The thriving town of Leek is nearby and offers a variety of good pubs and restaurants as well as many antique shops. The beautiful Manifold Valley offers further walking opportunities with the "Manifold Trail" – an excellent route through superb scenery for walkers and cyclists.
