Jablonec nad Nisou is a picturesque town in northern Bohemia with a population of about 45,000. The town lies in the green valley of the Nisa River at an altitude of 500 m above sea level. It is easy to find your way in the town centre, because it consists of three squares built one above the other. People have admired the fragile beauty of the town’s glass production and costume jewellery industry for years. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the unique town dam was built just outside the town centre. It has become a technical monument which serves as an attractive recreation area. Jablonec is an appealing prospect to those who wish to have an active and varied holiday.
