La Laiterie. Self-catering, farmhouse apartment

Would you prefer to wake up to the sound of birdsong rather than rush-hour traffic? Forming part of a traditional, stone-built farmhouse which nestles in the Normandy countryside this accommodation offers you the opportunity to 'get away from it all'. Situated in a small hamlet with direct access to a quiet, local footpath you are just a few steps away from a pleasant walk with scenic views. To help keep our guests safe we are following an enhanced cleaning routine. Comfortable, self-contained accommodation with a rustic ambiance overlooking lawned areas, the orchard and the countryside beyond. Downstairs there is a kitchen corner where you can prepare your own meals, a dining table and comfortable seating so that you can relax. Please note that there is not a television in La Laiterie. Upstairs, the bedroom has a double bed and also double sofa bed which can be made up for you if required. The shower/toilet is ensuite. A travel cot is available on request. You have your own garden area and can access shared areas such as the orchard where you can sit under the apple trees and read a book. I live on site and I am available to help if guests have questions regarding local places of interest, shopping and recreational activities. The farmhouse is in a small hamlet tucked away in the Normandy countryside yet is only 5 minutes drive from local amenities. There are pleasant walks, which are immediately accessible from the accommodation. There are marked footpaths and cycle routes in the area making this a great base for walkers or cyclists. Guests do need their own transport as we are situated in a rural location. However some guests do not plan to tour the area but wish to spend some quiet days here. In this case I can arrange to meet you from the railway station at Vire or Flers. I make a small charge of 10€ each way. We are 1 km from the village of Saint Quentin les Chardonnets, which is 2km from the main D294 road linking Vire and Flers. We are 6km from the small town of Tinchebray where local services shops, banks, fuel etc. are available Parking is next to your accommodation. There is a regular Granville to Paris rail service. There is a station in Vire (14 km) and in Flers (18km) WI-FI : There is not a television in this accommodation but free WI-FI is available. ACCESSIBILITY: The property is accessed by irregular stone steps and the stairs inside PETS: Please contact me prior to bringing a pet as is mentioned in the House Rules ELECTRICITY: 8kw/day is included in the tariff. Excess electricity used is charged at a rate of 0.18 Euros / kw used. HEATING is electric so please bear in mind that there may be an additional cost to you during winter months. BREAKFAST can be provided but please give 1 days notice. The cost is 7€/pp CLEANING: Guests are kindly asked to leave the gite clean and tidy at the end of their stay. A cleaning service is available if required. The cost for this service is 40 Euros TELEVISION is not provided are steeper than average.
