It is close to the Manifold Valley, Hartington & Leek. The houses are attractively built in local sandstone, with the Georgian style church at the centre. With some of the best walks in the country Dovedale, Beresford Dale, Milldale and Dimmingsdale are definitely worth a visit with breathtaking scenery. Visit the beautiful market towns of Ashbourne, Leek and Buxton which have a selection of cafes, antique shops, and boutiques as well as weekly markets. The picturesque village of Tissington is well worth a visit with a lovely vintage tearoom and a hall which is open at certain times during the year. It also has a butcher, a candle maker, gift shop and an old fashioned sweet shop. You can also park here and access the Tissington Trail. Hartington is just a 10-minute drive away and has a selection of pubs, tearooms and shops including a well-known cheese shop. There are many beautiful walks around Hartington and along the River Dove. Alton Towers Theme Park & Splash Landings Waterpark are a 10-minute drive away and there is also a Spa based at the hotel. Or you could hop on a steam train and pass through the delightful countryside at The Churnet Valley Railway. There are numerous historical houses in the area and are only a short drive away, Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Haddon Hall and Sudbury Hall. If I don’t get the opportunity to meet you on your arrival, I will catch up with you at some point. If you require anything please knock on my door, which is across the yard in the farmhouse. There is no public transport in the village so driving is the only option. There are numbers to taxi firms in the information folder.
