Private, Cozy, Affordable Studio on Windward Side!

*This unit can only be booked for a MINIMUM of 29 days* Come explore the lush windward side in a private, cozy studio (275sqft), surrounded by mountains, hikes, waterfalls, beaches, great restaurants and only 30 min. from Waikiki/Honolulu, and 45 min. to North Shore! We are a well-traveled family, happy to provide a safe environment for respectful travelers from all backgrounds! Our aim is to provide a clean, relaxing and affordable stay for vacationers, teleworkers, or just plain nomads:) Due to local regulations, this unit can only be rented for a minimum of 29 days. If you want to stay less, you can, but you will be charged for the entire stay. Also we do not allow pets or service animals. The studio is attached to the main house but has its own private entrance, full bathroom with shower, queen sized bed, linens, bath and beach towels, hi speed Wi-Fi, and cable TV. A covered outdoor kitchenette is attached to the lanai and is basic but comes with the essentials like a duel hotplate (no oven), microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator and all the utensils/silverware you need. We also provide a shared clothes washer/dryer for guest use. The studio stays cool from sea breezes most of the year but during the summer months we have fans if needed. There is no A/C. We HIGHLY recommend renting a car. There are many discount car rentals on island and we are far enough away from the city that public transportation is spotty at best. There is street parking available to park your rental. Enjoy swaying in the hammock on the large lanai surrounded by our beautiful Jade vine, or exploring the many hikes, waterfalls, sites and empty beaches the Windward side has to offer. For those travelers looking to tele-work. We have high speed wifi suitable for multiple all day zoom calls and VPN access. There are both indoor and outdoor tables to work on. We are 20 minutes away from Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and the town of Kailua, 25-30 minutes to Pearl Harbor and downtown/Waikiki, 35 minutes to the beaches of Waimanalo, and 45 minutes to North Shore. DISCLAIMER! We have two active children (5 and 7 years old) and a friendly black lab (Luna) who frequently use the backyard and although we discourage it, may frequent the lanai. As children do, they sometimes cry, make loud noises, or play loudly around the premises. As dogs do, they bark, but she is very friendly. On the plus side, the house gets quiet relatively early in the evening. However, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS OR CHILDREN our place may not be for you:). Guests have access to the studio, kitchenette, washer/dryer and backyard. We have a lot of beach things (chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkel gear) that can also be used. We also have some short and longboard surfboards for guest use. Please ask first to use. We live in the main house which is situated above the studio. We have a very friendly black Labrador (Luna) who barks and roams the property. Studio has its own private entry, but we frequently use the backyard. Ahuimanu is a quiet neighborhood situated between the majestic Ko'olau mountain range and beautiful Kaneohe Bay. Local attractions include multiple hikes, waterfalls, Byodo Buddhist temple, China Man's hat kayak trip, and Kualoa Ranch. We are on the way to the North Shore and 10 minutes from the Likelike, Pali Highway, and H3 Freeway access points. By car, we are approximately 20 minutes away from Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and the town of Kailua, 25-30 minutes to Pearl Harbor and downtown/Waikiki, 35 minutes to the beaches of Waimanalo, and 45-60 minutes to North Shore. We HIGHLY recommend renting a car to explore the area. If you prefer public transportation there is a bus stop about a 15 minute minute walk away. But again we live in a rural area and having a rental car will make exploring the island much more convenient. We like to provide and retain a respectful family friendly environment. We are early to rise and typically wind down around 8-9pm. No smoking, no drugs, no hard partying.
