Family House for nature & waterlovers

Welcome in our house, surrounded by beautiful nature and water, which houses many special plants & animals. Only 30 min from both Amsterdam & Utrecht, 50 from The Hague, it’s a welcome oasis of tranquility and quiet. Situated on the side of a river, we have a spacious garden with quite a spectacular view of the grasslands. Unique fact: the house is only reached by boat.. Recommended: boating, supping, swimming, fishing, hiking, bird-watching & enjoying the view. The house is a large family house located in the middle of nature, right on the riverside. The river is perfect for swimming and boating. You have access to the major part of the house and the entire garden, terrace and amenities. The hallway and washing room are occasionally shared with the host (Monique) if she is there. Use of the boat is always possible. There are 2 spacious bedrooms upstairs and one extra sofa bed (2 persons) in living room 2 (extra sitting room) downstairs. In the Kitchen, living room, bathroom, dining room and extra sitting room are all yours to use. 🛶 ♥ There is a boat available to reach the house (only 60 m crossover). We will pick you up when you arrive 🌱♥ Our scenic cottage garden is almost 700m2 big and has several places to sit down and relax 🌾 ♥ The house is situated right next to a nature area. The "Nieuwkoopse plassen" (lake area) are right next door 🔥 ♥ The house has a spacious & comfy living room with a nice fireplace After a 60 meter cross over by boat (I will pick you up on arrival), you arrive at the landing stage, you walk just one minute on the dyke. First you walk past the house of our neighbours. Then you enter our garden with three terraces (always a place in the sun) with a large dining table, You have access to the major part of the house and the entire garden, terrace and amenities. The hallway and washing room are occasionally shared with the host (Monique) if she is there. Use of the boat is always possible. I will welcome you, give instructions and information. You can always reach me by phone. I will be staying at the back part of the house, which is divided from the rented space by a doorway. Or I will be staying in the neighbourhood. The house is located right by the river side, where you can swim, boat or paddle. Short walk from national park “The Nieuwkoopse plassen”. The cities Amsterdam and Utrecht are 30/25 mins away by car. Within an hour you can visit different beaches, The Hague, Keukenhof, Volendam. There are several fine restaurants in the vicinity. The local supermarkets and food stores are 4-9 km (Mijdrecht, Noorden, Nieuwkoop). All facilities are available in the near surroundings. You can rent a canoe at different places nearby (Noorden/Nieuwkoopse Plassen, VinkeveensePlassen, de Meije) or rent bikes and enjoy the countryside. Woerdense Verlaat is located in the so called “green heart” of Holland, the area that has been spared (mostly) from urbanisation by the nearby cities of Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. That means it has the best of both worlds, the house is located on a dyke amidst nature, yet the main attractions of Holland are within one hour reach. The only way to come and stay here is by car. There's NO public transport near. You can park your car on the opposite site of the river. From the airport you can take a taxi or I can pick you up from the train station (max 5 people). The nearest train station (Breukelen) is a 20 min drive away. You can reach the house directly by bicycle or by foot, the address is Westveensekade 14 Woerdense Verlaat. You can park your car on the dyke, at the height of Amstelkade 30, 3652MD, Woerdense Verlaat. We live opposite the river (Kromme Mijdrecht). Give me a call and I will pick you up with our rowing boat or a private ferry. The house is only reachable by rowing boat, you can park your car on the dyke on the opposite side. For little children you must be aware of the river and the little canals. We have no safety fences around the garden, you have to attend your children if they can’t swim. We have one baby bed.
