We can add a single bed for a third person and for those travelling with small children we offer a travel cot and a high chair. Sorry, but we do not accept smokers. We are friendly and well travelled hosts who will make you very welcome, and we hope you will explore our garden and private woodland and meet our rare breed sheep and chickens as well as observe the plentiful wildlife. Home produced eggs are usually available and occasionally other home grown items. The apartment has been newly re-carpeted - hence the security deposit! We are offering to guests staying with us a self contained apartment within our large family country home, and free access to our extensive gardens, fields and woodland We welcome guests in person and we are always available to answer any questions, or have a brief chat. Otherwise guests' accommodation is completely self contained and their privacy is respected. There is an excellent selection of places to eat and drink locally, and we will happily advise you. We can also tell you about tourist attractions - from historic homes and picturesque villages to attractive coastal locations, wonderful walking routes (for which we can provide maps) and sporting opportunities. There is a big selection of leaflets in the apartment to help you plan your excursions. Ideal for cyclists, whether looking to enjoy winding country lanes and pub lunches, the well known Surrey Hills mountain bike routes, or challenging road climbs. Lockable bike storage is available. The apartment is situated near the village of Rudgwick. and by car is 40 minutes from from London Gatwick airport, 15 minutes from Horsham, and 30 from Guildford. Trains run from Horsham (London and Brighton), Guildford (London and Portsmouth) and Billingshurst, for the Sussex Coast. There is an hourly day time bus service (not Sunday) between Horsham and Guildford via Cranleigh, which stops at our local bus stop in Bucks Green (a mile away). Collection from this bus stop is possible when you arrive, but it is advisable to bring your own car (essential in Winter) as the house is about a mile and a half from the nearest shops. Keen cyclists may wish to know that a few miles away are the best sections of both the 2012 Tour of Britain Guildford stage and the London Olympic Road Race routes, and a ride to the coast is also possible. Experienced riders can attempt the climbs the Olympic route avoids such as Tanhurst Lane (14% gradient and poorly surfaced) or Barhatch Lane (21%). Many sportive and charity cycle rides also pass through the area and a number pass down the lane in front of the property.
