Centered on Figenschau Bay, we are just minutes from restaurants, island landmarks and boat launches. This property has the comforts of home and the amenities of a boutique hotel! Newly renovated/interior painting/remodeled bath/new mattresses/bed linens/draperies. Fully equipped kitchen. Outdoor seating area w/deck and fire pit. Gull Cottage has seen a plethora of exciting renovations in the last year! It looks great! The living room is sporting a plush new sofa, loveseat and oversized chair that invite you and your loved ones to snuggle up for a movie or gather for a game night. The open concept kitchen/living room area allow for food prep and conversation with family, and a quick walk to the deck allows you to enjoy the weather and lake view while serving on our new outdoor table that comfortably seats 6-8 people. If you're a grill-master, enjoy the use of the new 6-burner gas grill. You may even want to prepare your catch of the day! New mattresses, bed linens and and comfy pillows and bedspreads in every room invite you to relax and have the sweetest of dreams. Ample dresser and closet space in every room allow you to settle in whether it's for a few days or a few weeks. You'll find a room fan in every bedroom closet and the master ceiling fan remote control on the night stand. Master bedroom night stands are each equipped with two USB charging ports too! Extra blankets can be found in each closet for chilly nights when you can't bear to close the windows because you want to hear the sound of the lake lapping up on the shore. When you're outdoor play ends and you're looking for indoor entertainment, enjoy the SmartTV and log into your own apps to stream your favorite music or movies. A large yard with an incredible lake view is all yours. Bring your yard games along and enjoy! New Adirondack chairs can be moved from the deck to circle the fire pit area so you can end your evening under the stars. The view is amazing! Guests will have access to all indoor and outdoor locations on the property excluding the attached/detached garages. When you stay at Gull Cottage, you have the entire house to yourself, but we want you to feel like you are our personal guests. We have installed a security camera near the driveway to insure your safety, so you can relax knowing you are safe and sound. Also, we are at your service! If you love a great cup of coffee, don't miss starting a morning at the Red Cup. Quaint decor and great food and beverages are yours for breakfast or lunch. We also love the catch of the day at KK Fisk's. Famous for their ever-so-tender Lawyers (a deep lake fish) you've never tasted such fresh fish! Need a run to the grocery store? Head to Mann's where you'll find everything you need. Don't miss Mann's Hardware for Island Fudge and a great selection of Island wear. The Shipyard Marina also serves great food, and can assist with any boating needs you may have. You'll want to visit School House Beach, one of only five limestone beaches world-wide! Fragrant Isle, the largest premiere lavender farm in the midwest, with 20,000 thriving lavender plants is in peak bloom from mid-June through the end of August, and tours of the production barn are available at certain times of the year. Pick your own lavender or purchase some lavender plants to take home. The onsite store features home and bath products as well as a bakery. A short hike up Mountain Park Lookout Tower will give you 360 degree views of expansive Island landscapes. Lastly, a trip to the island would not be complete without a burger from the Albatross! They're worth the wait! The Washington Island Cherry Train gives a great tour of the island. You can also rent mopeds and bicycles near the Ferry dock, or drive the scenic roads by car. Gull Cottage is following Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights: We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknobs and light switches. We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination. We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists. We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay. We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines. We are a pet friendly property, and allow dogs on the premises. If you'd like to bring your furry friend, please message the host for details on clean-up and disposal of waste. There is a $30 per day per dog non-refundable fee which will be billed through the resolution center once you check in. We know plans for your pups can change up to the last moment, so we don't bill until you arrive. Firewood for the fireplace and/or fire pit is not provided, but can be purchased at Mann's Hardware or Dave's garage.
