Guesthouse Heba: The Golden Room incl. breakfast

Room 202, a spacious room with King size Hotel-grade elevated bed 180x200 cm (OR as two single beds 90x200 cm), with Muscovy Down duvets, a common lounge, and bathroom, all on the second floor. Balcony (shared with the adjacent #201) with a view over the lava skerries, and the North Atlantic Ocean. Free coffee/tea available at arrival (if checked in before 18:00). Breakfast included, served from 7:00-9:00 by the owners, a couple living at the site. FREE parking and FREE WiFi all around. Guesthouse Heba's private garden can be freely accessed all year. Climb the stairs of the breakwater from the street (Íragerði) for a better view of the lava skerries. Walk the wall, or the streets, towards the church and harbour beneath it, and along the beach from there. Private balcony and a common lounge/library. Two spacious bathrooms with toilets, shampoos, shower, and hairdryer, both shared with three other rooms (max.8 persons). Downstairs we have the entrance with access to the garden and the breakfast rooms. The hosts, Heba and Kristján, are both living in the house, attend to your needs, make the hummus and bake the bread every night. A comlpimentary quick tea or coffee at arrival (until 18:00). Heba and Kristján will serve you a delicious breakfast every morning between 07:00 and 09:00. Stokkseyri is a village of 500 inhabitants, founded (as a ranch) more than 1000 years ago. It is located on the edge of 5 cubic kilometres of lava, over 140 kilometres long. The lava was stopped on this point by the ocean around 6700 B.C. and formed the beautiful skerries stretching 300 meters offshore. In the village, you will find a replica of an 18th-century fishing-hut (Þuríðarbúð) and an old church with an almost 1000-year-old graveyard. Your host, Heba, is a potter by trade and runs a ceramic workshop in the big red building "Menningarverstöðin" at the harbour (formerly a freezing plant) with a few other artists and museums. Further on, behind the red building is the most romantic, very popular lobster restaurant (Fjöruborðið). Opposite the restaurant is a tourist information house "Gimli", and on the ground floor is a shop/gallery with handmade, local souvenirs. The bus service covering Iceland "Strætó" (www straeto is) reaches Stokkseyri (via Selfoss 14 km away). Several connecting buses serve Stokkseyri/Eyrarbakki/Selfoss every day, free of charge.
