The cottage has private parking,a large private garden, patio with outside dining area and a BBQ and fire pit,all set in the expansive and beautiful grounds of Carpenter House,built in 1883 by the poet Edward Carpenter in Cordwell Valley voted by The Daily Mail as one of the most beautiful places to live in UK. Carpenter Cottage is in the beautiful rural village of Millthorpe, Derbyshire. It sits on the edge of the Peak District National Park, just 8 minutes’ drive from the Chatsworth Estate with easy access to Sheffield, Chesterfield and surrounding villages. Within a short walk or drive there is an abundance of things to see and do and many national treasures to explore during your stay in Millthorpe. Local attractions include Mam Tor, Stanage Edge, Haddon Hall, The Monsal Trail, Dovedale, The Heights of Abraham, The Pavilion Gardens, Ladybower Reservoir, Bakewell, The Blue John Cavern to name but a few. Breathtakingly stunning and utterly inspiring you will not be stuck for ideas, boasting moors, dales, rivers, springs and caverns all on the doorstep of this seemingly sleepy village. It is conveniently a one minute walk from the famous Royal Oak Pub offering a vast selection of beers and wines. Serving traditional pub food not to mention it's renowned selection of cheeses, only over sixty to choose from! The cottage is completely independent, however your hosts, mother and daughter, Jo and Sophie, are available on site 24hrs for any queries you may have to ensure a most enjoyable stay.
