Rural Retreat on the Ashdown Forest

THE FOREST MALTHOUSE on the Ashdown Forest is a luxurious, spacious, detached, 1 bedroom, converted barn dating from (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) with wonderful views over the forest. The Vaulted Oak Framed barn offers guests an extremely high standard of countryside self-catering accommodation with endless walks on your doorstep & a large, open plan kitchen & living/dining room. In a quiet, rural setting, with secure gated parking it's an ideal base for walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching or simply relaxing. The main open plan kitchen / living and dining room is an oak framed vaulted barn with double height headroom, it really is quite a special space to relax in! All guests receive complimentary fresh milk from our local creamery and farm, and a selection of beers from our local brewery. We have a comfortable couch to either relax, read, or sit back back and watch NETFLIX over Wi-Fi on the flat screen TV. We also have a separate dining area should you choose to cook a meal, or if feeling more indulgent get a takeaway. The double bedroom and shower-room and wc are located upstairs above another adjoining barn. They are accessed via one flight of stairs located in the open plan vaulted kitchen living / room. There is not a sofa bed in the living room and the property is most suited to two adult guests. Adults with infants are very welcome! Additionally, they will have access to one gated parking space right outside. Externally they will have access to a table and chairs in the grounds outside with views over the forest beyond. We do request that guests respect our privacy and do not enter our private garden. Lucy is generally at home and available as we have a young family, horses and dogs living in the main farmhouse. Damien is available on the phone at all times and is generally about at the weekend and evenings. We are always available to assist, provide recommendations for walks or fooderies, or just a chat! From THE FOREST MALTHOUSE, the only other property you can see is our family farmhouse, so no other neighbours that you will see or hear, and some really lovely views over the forest. Generally you need a car to get around. You can walk directly onto the forest within a minute of the property, where there are then endless walks! There two lovely local pubs in walking distance at around 20mins walk (each way). COVID NATIONAL LOCKDOWN. WE ARE TAKING PROVISIONAL BOOKINGS FROM MARCH (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) IN THE HOPE LOCKDOWN IS RELAXED AND WE CAN RE OPEN. We do have WiFi, and a TV set up with NETFLIX in th THE FOREST MALTHOUSE. Due to the rural location 3g and 4g mobile signal is poor most of the time, so don't expect too many long calls whilst you are relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility. You will have to use (Hidden by Airbnb) to communicate over Wi-Fi.
