Iconic farmstead in Tällberg/Laknäs

Iconic 19th century Dalarna farmstead, quietly situated near Lake Siljan. A comfortable combination of modern facilities with many original details, including fully functional tiled stoves. DEPARTURE CLEANING, SHEETS AND TOWELS INCLUDED IN PRICE. A frequent comment from our guests is that their visit was too short. We recommend minimum three nights - there is much to see and experience, for all ages, in the area. Enjoy quiet living in this classical recreation area. Watch the sunset from the garden or from one of the many nearby jetties. The accommodation offers a comfortable combination of modern life necessities (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, shower rooms and more) with elderly charm (tiled stoves, porch and more) Spacious garden, wonderful patio, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, one extra bed in loft room, two toilets and shower rooms. Bicycles to borrow and lots of stunning views to discover around the corner. If you have young children or old knees please note all bedrooms are located on the upper level. Shower and toilet located on both levels. We offer a number of bikes for our guest to borrow to get around in this beautiful rural area. We live just around the corner - just call us if you need our help. During the summer season we occasionally have to mowe the lawn and we will also have to turn up to water the plants of the garden. We always respect the needs of our gusts when doing this. Numerous excursions in the vicinity, from Leksand (12km) in the south to Mora (40km) in the north. The view of Lake Siljan is stunning, any time of the year. In summer the lake offers wonderful cooling baths and boating excursions, in Winter the snow covered lake is perfect for skiing. The house is situated in central Laknäs. Easy access by train (3h 15 minutes from Stockholm) or car (3h 15 minutes drive from Stockholm. The nearest railway station (Tällberg) is situated 20 minutes walk from the house - but let us know in advance and we will pick you up at the station. A local bus service is available to take you to nearby Leksand or Rättvik (both 12 km). The winding road along lake Siljan is beautiful for walks, cycling or cruising with your car. Dalhalla arena is located 30 minutes drive from the house. You can also catch the arena bus (10 minutes walk from the house) - this has to be pre booked on the Dalhalla home page "To visit Sweden and Dalarna without having seen Tällberg is like attending a wedding without having seen the bride". Please note that the bedrooms are located on the upper level and the stairs have no gate. We are environmentally conscious and ask all our guests to recycle all garbage – separate bins for this purpose are located on the farmstead. We also want to let you know that the local tap water is fine for drinking, there is no need to buy bottled water if you don’t want to.
